MAX Credit Union, the after-hours customer service team & MAX app needs WORK because between the 2 of them, they are NOT making the "customer experience" a good experience. Last night, the app. was malfunctioning as usual and getting assistance with your services is impossible after your business. I got off work around 5:30/6pm and needed to run errands before going home. Most of us work jobs where we are working bankers' hours as well so we cannot contact knowledgeable customer service people after hours. I work a job where I am helping others all day every day, so I know what it means to provide an enjoyable experience to my customers. The level of menacing and disrespectful attitudes, I got from the worker on the customer services line had me on the verge of moving my funds to one of my other banks on Monday. I have never encountered the level of unexperienced people in my life, I was asked for all of my card information then told they couldn't help me and the clowns hung up the phone. The MAX app and after-hours customer service team needs to be revised and revamped b/c getting assistance after you've dedicated your whole workday to helping others is essential to keeping your customers. Oh, I will be making time to call the real customer service on Monday between 8am -4:30pm b/c this needs to be known and addressed ASAP.

Overdraft fees have to be the craziest and scamming action that any bank could even consider thinking of taking. I mean it’s already a delay in when your transactions go through so when a bill comes out of no where and you think you have the money for it? NOPE 30 dollars taken from you every single time it processes a payment that was made a 3 days ago and you have the pay each $30 back in your own cash pretty much giving them your money that doesn’t belong to them. Thank you Max Credit Union for putting me in a very deep hole that I shouldn’t be in right now

Max Credit Union is still my first choice for banking in the Montgomery area. We've been customers since 1989. They provide excellent service and were extremely helpful when we needed documents notarized and an estate account set up. I do miss the days when Max Credit Union was Max Federal Credit Union. Back then you couldn't get an account unless you were military or related to someone with an account. It's a bit more crowded now. Their accounts are still very reasonable and they are the first placed I'd go for a car loan. They also have a very good mobile banking app.

Their customer service by phone is terrible and is worse now than ever. Some services are good but just the typical lack of urgency and follow thru. Just waited 30 min again at 10am while using the online assistant - no help from either.

I’ve been with Max for over 10 years and have stayed with them even with it being inconvenient for me living in a city without Max. Today was really disappointing as I tried to withdraw cash from an atm and got an error message which I assumed might have been a fraud alert because I hardly ever withdraw cash. When attempting to call max for assistance, I was interacting with a bot and never got to speak with a real person after trying for 30 minutes. I’m all for technology but only if it’s helpful. In the case of max customer service, it was not helpful at all, please work on this issue or I will have to change banks.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
