Melonnie is a true professional, her personality and professionalism are a great tribute to Spirit of Alaska Credit Union. During the course of our refinancing our 4 wheeler she exhibited, charm, joy and a true sense of caring She went the extra mile to help us taking into account our busy work schedules and was flexible to accommodate us This means a great deal when, in so many instances we find that businesses expect the customers to change their schedules to meet the institutional schedules. I have been a member of Spirit of Alaska Credit Union when it was Northern School Federal Credit Union since 1992. The branch was in the Constitution Hall on the UAF campus. I have my first checking/savings account up there. Spirit of Alaska Credit Union has an amazing staff and has always treated myself and my family in nothing but the most professional and courteous ways. The staff are cheery and effective individuals that know their profession well. Just today, a Spirit of Alaska staff member handled a difficult situation going back to June of 2024, and even with the strenuous effort to achieve resolve, the issue was remedied. Again, the individuals that represent Spirit of Alaska Credit Union work with such finesse and strive to keep its clients informed and on the cutting edge of whatever venture they are pursuing. And,...this is why I have stayed with Spirit of Alaska Credit Union for so many years. Why change to a different system when the one we are with works? Common sense, reason, logic and experience tell us to stay the course with Spirit of Alaska Credit Union.

After owning a home in Fairbanks for 7 years, we wanted a local bank and one that would help us build our dream home on the Cooper River. We tried the “bigger” Alaska banks and were turned down by all. They either didn’t want to work south of the range, or too remote. The team at Spirit of Alaska Gilliam Branch, Mark, Tony and Kathy, were awesome and always had a “can do” attitude! They believed in us and we believed in them!! Did it finish on time? No. Equipment, plumbers, inspections took time, but they were understanding the whole time!!! We recommend this team with our highest regard. 10/10 :) Go talk to Mark!!!
