A credit union that operates more like bank. People answer the phones have no ability to rectify anything. You can hear them typing in your questions/issues to a chat and waiting for directions from someone who has access to "the buttons". Fees all over the place. They charge you five bucks to make a loan or credit card payment(unless you have time go into the branch... Impossible from out of state). You cannot make a same day ACH payment to your account/loan, so they can get an extra day of interest. When asked about this they responded:"All banking institutions operate by this rule"... Completely innaccurate! Coming up on 6 weeks since paying off an auto loan and still have no title. However, will be VERY happy to not be dealing with them anymore

My experience is with an auto and HELC, so if you apply for these with True North FCU, I urge you to read the details and ask about the fees and addon's (both are high). They bury these in the fine print but in both of my experiences they do not go out of their way to show you this, which is fine I guess, and totally legal, but you should be aware of this. In my opinion, as a credit union, TNFCU one is more profit-driven than others I have seen. My suggestion is shop around. Beyond that, I haven't had many issues with their customer service, they seem pretty responsive.

Worst bank ever and the customer service in Juneau doesn’t know what they’re doing. I was in other state trying to deposit my paper cheque and they told the only option to deposit it is through physical mail to the building although there’s a mobile/remote deposit in App Store. After few months I got car accident I had my other cheque from car insurance with my name and my brother name on it they told me I cannot deposit it because we need a join-bank account for it they never accept although he was with me physically in the bank. I talk to the manager still they won’t let me deposit it. So went to AlaskaUSA with my brother and it went smooth and no problem at all. I would say all truenorth employee in Juneau doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Its almost as if this credit union doesn't want your business.. The staff lacks knowledge for even the basic lending/banking needs. I had to call multiple times to speak with a manager explaining my situation and what their staff was saying. turned out the staff was lacking knowledge and was giving me incorrect information. After I received correct information from the branch manager the info apparently never got to the people who were processing my request because when I went back to finish what I needed, the tellers looked at me like a deer in headlights. I asked for the manager in the building and he/she was nowhere to be found.. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a bank. I know Juneau and the southeast in general are limited in choices but I would highly recommend finding another institution to handle your financial/lending needs.

This is my 3 bad experience with them, The first was a car loan, I applied for a car loan, called back in the morning to check status, it was still processing. So I decided to apply with Alaska USA also, I got a call back from Alaska USA 4 or 5 hours later, and was approved. I called True north to check the status to compare, it was still processing, an hour or 2 later they called me and said I was approved, but they would only cover 80% of the car value, Alaska USA covered 85%, and the interest rate was a little less too, So I went with Alaska USA. The second time, I applied for a credit card on the website for $4500, it said I was approved, I called back the next day and they said I wasn't approved, I got upset and hung up, then then called me back later and said they approved it. (So they fixed that one) Then the 3rd time I applied for a consolidation loan, my credit score isn't that good but I haven't been late on payments) again I applied to both True north and Alaska USA, and agian alaska USA got back to me fast and approved me, true north took longer and didn't even approve me.
