I've never had a more difficult time with a Credit Union. I was a member of ALPS before it merged with Tongass, and it's just been one problem after another since the merge. It IMPOSSIBLE to access my accounts, and generally, the answer when I call for assistance is "sorry, unfortunately....". I cannot wait to close my accounts and get out of this CU.

I walked into the Ketchikan branch of the Tongass Federal Credit Union. I was hoping to open an account. All agents were busy helping customers. I took a seat in their reception area. I waited 20-minutes, no one ever greeted me, no one asked how they could help me. I lost all interest in opening an account, got up and walked out.

I am done, fed up, tired of banking with TFCU. My card was flagged for the millionth time, shut off, I missed my lunch here at work because I had to deal with this yet again. I have never had my card blocked like this with any other credit union or bank. I'm sooooooo sick of it. And to make matters worse, some of the times this happens it's after they have closed on a Friday so I am unable to make purchases all weekend. There is zero support for this issue on weekends. I will more then happily be going back to BECU where I can get 24 hour, 7 day a week service and not have my card flagged, in the town I live in, especially at my place of work where I am simply trying to buy my lunch. I will never recommend this establishment to my coworkers, friends or family.

They are the BEST bank EVER! I have a home loan with them and rent it out. My renter didn't pay and since I don't live there I didn't notice. They called me and told me so that I both didn't get a late fee but also didn't get the dreaded mortgage late payment on my credit. Amazing!
