The staff are AMAZING! Needed Coogan Accounts and other products, when hiccups occurred I felt heard and reassured. Contacting via telephone I try to avoid like getting the plague but GRIGOR makes it absolutely painless! Seriously, I have not had contact with anyone who wasn’t professional and diligent in their efforts to fit the particular banking needs I have.

We've been banking with UMe for many years since it was Burbank federal credit union. We've always had a great 👌 experience and all personal very polite. Everyone has been very helpful and will take the time to help us with any concerns. Thank you 😊 Happy Holidays ✨️🎄

I had a deeply upsetting experience with UME Federal Credit Union in Burbank. I applied for a personal loan after my father passed away so I could travel for his funeral. The loan was approved by their underwriter, but I was then told I could not receive the funds because my membership was denied by an employee named Caren. My credit report came back at 730 with zero adverse information. No late payments, no delinquencies, nothing negative at all. The reason given for the membership denial was two routine ChexSystems inquiries from 2024 — not overdrafts, not closed accounts, not negative activity — just standard banking inquiries. That’s it. I explained the urgency and that I needed to travel to bury my father. Despite this, I was made to wait until Friday at 5:30 PM to be told I was denied, leaving me no time to make other arrangements. Because of this, I missed my father’s funeral on Sunday. The process felt cold, dismissive, and completely without empathy. Even the underwriter who approved the loan sounded surprised. UME claims to be a community-focused credit union, but my experience felt the exact opposite — it felt personal and deeply inhumane. This was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever gone through. I strongly advise others to go elsewhere.

Umm does anyone else find it super alarming that UBE hasn’t even commented on the post below?? That silence is disturbing and tells me everything I need to know about this credit union. - I too had an unfortunate interaction with a representative named Karen, so while it’s heartbreaking to hear what happened to the person below, it sadly doesn’t surprise me after my own experience with the same associate. But, that’s completely unacceptable and should have been addressed immediately. This was enough for me to take my banking needs elsewhere — and I recommend others do the same. Stay far away from UBE Credit Union, especially “doesn’t-care Karen.”

Had an issue with a business payment pulling money out of the wrong account. Ume went out of the way to help me with this. Awesome service over the phone. Was debating closing the account because I don't live so close anymore, but I will be keeping it due to the awesome service. Sorry forgot your name but Thank you!
