Edward helped me with some account issues and was such a delight to work with!! I ended that call with laughter and a smile on my face all because he was so personable. He was able to sort everything out for me in less than 30 minutes— he was amazing.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a company, I constantly have to wait 30+ minutes on the phone waiting for someone to answer and the people who do answer are always so rude and unprofessional, several times I have been put on hold or transferred without any explanation, and just to then be sent to another departments voicemail that never call back. No one knows the answer to anything. Additionally they advised me that they are going to start charging a $12 service fee to make your payment over the phone or online, that to me is extremely inconvenient and excessive. They have no convenient way to make your payments. I regret doing business with this company.

I spent at least 15 minutes on the phone today with Edward who is in the contact center, but he said Los Alamitos branch would get this message. He was so helpful. He stayed online with me and answered three important questions. I think he is the most helpful of anyone that I’ve ever dealt with on the phone or at a branch. I do enjoy being a member of Southland Credit Union and now I know that they have great people like Edward working at the contact center. Definitely a five star experience.

We recently became members of the credit union, and within just the first couple of days, Liz has absolutely blown us away with her extraordinary service. From the very start, she made us feel welcome, valued, and completely taken care of. Liz went above and beyond to guide us through the process of purchasing a new car, making something that can often be stressful feel smooth and exciting. She was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about helping us make the best decision for our needs. Anthony was also extremely helpful along the way, and we’re grateful for his assistance. But Liz has truly been a star—her professionalism, warmth, and dedication are exactly the kind of service that makes us proud and thankful to be new members. If this is the standard at the credit union, we know we’re in the right place!

I am very surprised by the other reviews. I want to say that I have been a part of Southland Credit Union for over 15 years and I truly have never had a bad experience. Now I will say since mobile banking became available I do not go into the bank the way that I used to, but overall I haven’t had any issues and when I do call, they’re very kind and helpful. And when I did go into the bank, I always had Rosie and she was an amazing bank teller, so sweet and kind.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
