Extremely frustrating experience with USC Credit Union. I went in to update my address and was told to do it through the app instead. That same weekend my account was hit with fraud, and I was later told that changing my address online caused a delay in getting my new debit card due to a “cool-off period.” When I went back to the branch, I was told the opposite—that it didn’t matter how the address was changed. It’s now been over a week with no debit card, late bills as a result, conflicting information from staff, no reply from the branch manager, and even a 15-minute hold that ended with a disconnected call. The only helpful person through this entire ordeal was Maria—she was great. Overall, very disappointing customer service during a stressful situation.

A poor experience recently. As a USC alum I’ve financed multiple cars with these guys all fully paid off, one currently being paid off. A credit card with a high limit, managed responsibility and almost paid off completely. 0 missed payments and have been a member for over 10 years Recently applied for another line of credit with these guys with a great credit score and good business overall and was at first accepted then declined. The process to even apply was like jumping through so many hoops. They really don’t offer much in terms of loans, because I feel like if your looking for an auto loan you can go through a dealer after negotiating way less off MSRP (it’s doable in today’s age with doing research and being prepared) Just really disappointed on how they’d treat a long time member who’s had 0 missed payments, fantastic credit, and has always done great business with them. My recommendation is to look to the bigger national banks like Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, establish a relationship with them with a small checking account, which opens up the door to financing options where you aren’t required to do so much for a small line of credit approval. Was extremely disappointed with USC Credit Union, especially as an alumni.

It’s been a few months since I left a negative review — and honestly, my experience back then really was awful. But people and businesses can grow, and everyone deserves a second chance. I recently went through an auto refinance with this credit union, and I was seriously impressed. The whole process was super smooth, easy to understand, and just stress-free. No long waits, no confusing paperwork, no endless phone calls. It was quick, simple, and handled really professionally. I’ve dealt with other places before, and this was definitely one of the better experiences I’ve had. I really appreciate how streamlined everything was. Keep doing what you’re doing — you’re on the right track!

Andrea has been super helpful and really went above her scope to speed things up. I’m glad my alma mater offers this kind of great service!

This was a few years ago. I took my dad here for a mortgage refinance application. To be honest, the mortgage loan officer treated us as a bother. He made us wait while we saw another individual go in to talk to him even though he had come in after. Not sure if it was discrimination but that guy was white while we are Hispanic. As a USC alumnus, I felt embarrassed to have suggested this credit union to my dad.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
