I have been a member for a few years now. I purchased a truck and the dealership used them because they had great rates but reluctantly because they are a little difficult to deal with on auto loans. I now have a second truck with them and the loan was quite difficult to get as well even though I had a current loan with them set on autopay with NO late payments. I have never had a late payment on anything in my life. Fast forward to now. I wanted to refinance my current loan to a lower rate. A loan they currently hold. Again, I have never been late, on anything, ever. My current credit score according to them is a 749 and I was denied because I have an extension on filing my taxes. FOR AN AUTO LOAN. I have never in my life even had to show proof of income on anything except my houses due to my excellent credit score. I have proof of income for them but they want filed tax returns on an AUTO LOAN. My husband has been selling cars for 25 years and currently runs a dealership. This is an absurd requirement with a client with my qualifications. LOL I just have to laugh about it. Common sense has left the building.

Worst bank that we have an auto loan with. It takes them 14+ days to post a check and then claim your payment is late even though it is dated before the due date. They are so far behind in technology that you cant make an electronic payment to your loan. When you call them they are extremely rude and unhelpful. They won't admit their failure to posting payments late and blame it on the mailing system. They just suck as a financial institution.

Horrible web site and customer service is not good. Expect long hold times when calling in and expect someone to help that cannot speak clear English. They do not send a confirmation letter once a loan is paid in full either and on top of that it takes months to update your credit report to reflect as such. There IRA and Share Certificate APY's are very low. There are little to no branches as well. You would be better off with a more well known bank.

Rating the credit union overall not by branch. Got a car loan through them and rates were great. Getting the loan was super easy but it has to be the most frustrating experience to just pay my bill. First, they generated the loan 6 days before my first due date. No problem, I have already set aside the money. The loan information can't be given over the phone, sure.. privacy, I get that too. We finally got our member number and account number in the mail 3 days before our payment (on a Friday).. we create an online account and figured out the only way to pay the loan was to transfer money from the savings account to the loan. There is no seawest where we live so it had to be transferred from an external account. So we called in and spoke to someone in the loan department who basically repeated after me like a parrot. "yes your loan was opened a few days ago, oh yeah your due date was yesterday but it was Sunday, yeah you can just transfer from the savings account.. oh but it takes days for the money to transfer but you can pay by mail by check... that should be here in two weeks. so your options are to basically be late because we don't have capabilities to pay by phone". its 2020... there should be an option to pay directly from a checking account or even by phone...

I have had a savings account and at least for car loans through Sea West Federal credit Union. I've always been pleased with the service. It's a simple banking institution, and the staff are fast and friendly. I only wish they did not charge an exorbitant ATM usage fee for their on-base ATM 4 non sea west accounts.
