I cannot say enough great things about my HELOC experience with San Francisco Federal Credit Union (SFFCU). From start to finish, the process was smooth, efficient, and genuinely pleasant—something I never thought I’d say about a loan process. Tim Ma was the standout. His professionalism, lightning-fast communication, and true concierge-level guidance set a completely new standard for what a loan officer should be. Tim was reachable anytime via text or phone, answered questions immediately, and proactively guided me through every step. I always knew exactly where things stood and what to expect next. For context, this was a night-and-day comparison to my experience with Navy Federal Credit Union. With Navy Federal, I could barely reach a human being when I called—never mind my assigned loan officer, who was essentially unreachable by phone. Emails would maybe get a response after several business days, if at all. They dragged the process out for over five months, wasting an incredible amount of my time with little progress or communication. By contrast, SFFCU closed my loan in just 45 days. That alone speaks volumes, but the quality of service makes it even more impressive. I will 100% be a repeat customer with San Francisco Federal Credit Union. My only regret is that I gave Navy Federal Credit Union any of my time in the first place. If you’re considering a HELOC and want speed, transparency, and top-tier service, do yourself a favor and work with SFFCU—and ask for Tim Ma.

I am a new member of SFFCU and this was my first branch visit. I went to make a deposit and a large cash withdrawl. The tellers were very warm, kind and polite and we enjoyed talking briefly about my long ride down from Napa to get there.

I have been with San Francisco Federal for many years now, and have transitioned through multiple life chapters with their support. From student loans, to my first car, etc. And now, at this new chapter in my life, I am once again impressed with the support that they have been able to provide me. Specifically, Lisa Ward has been hugely helpful, and her outstanding professionalism alone deserves a 5 star review. Not only is she clearly an expert in her field, but she is able to communicate intricate ideas and share potentially confusing information in a way that is clear, concise, and so easy to understand --even if you do not have a strong background in money. Lisa Ward is kind, knowlegeable, understanding, patient, calm, confident in her ability to support, willing to meet you where you are, and extremely efficient, even in tricky situations. Another great experience with San Francisco Federal Credit Union.

I was a member of My Credit Union. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the changes resulting from the merger of the operations of My Credit Union into San Francisco Federal Credit Union, especially, the inability to contact directly by telephone the office of My Credit Union Redwood City branch of San Francisco Federal Credit Union. The fact that I must telephone San Francisco Federal Credit Union general information line and wait to be transferred to the My Credit Union branch is a terrible inconvenience. Sometimes San Francisco Federal Credit Union does not answer a telephone call and it is necessary to leave a message that may not be answered for 2 business days. That is absolutely horrible, particularly, when I need to contact the My Credit Union branch right away. Prior to the merger of My Credit Union operations into San Francisco Credit Union, I had no difficulty reaching My Credit Union office by Telephone, and never had to wait 2 days for a return call. This inconvenience and San Francisco Federal Credit Union's automatic log off without warning of members signed on to its website is causing me to consider terminating my accounts with the My Credit Union branch, in which I have been a member for over 56 years.

We have had an excellent experience with the Go Green loan program here. Extra thank yous to Carla Eaton and Sheila Tate. They are superb, highly responsive, and nice to work with.
