My uncle has been a member of the credit union for decades. Whenever he goes in, everyone treats him like he’s a superstar. At age 89, he appreciates the warm greetings he always receives. Since his health no longer permits him to drive, I do some of the banking for him. But, without fail, at least one of the WONDERFUL employees asks how he’s doing. We are beyond grateful!

Credit Unions tend to be so much more homey and down to earth, and this one fits the bill. The staff are casual yet very knowledgeable and informed and helpful. (Not that it matters but the location is beautiful and so is the building as well) The one problem is the limited number of blue placard (handicapped) parking places, but mainly it is very difficult to get into the front door if you are in a wheelchair or stroller or walker. It is old and not handicap friendly building.

I've been banking here for a few years and love it in every way. SBTCU delivers customer-focused small town banking in Santa Barbara... no it's not Kansas, but it could be! Even though it is not open on weekends, it is not an issue for me, and I'm glad to know all the employees can have a weekend. Loan rates are indeed excellent and extends to all services and fees which are far cheaper than the mega-banks. ***Since the big banks continue to exploit all of us, I choose to go with a local credit union.

This credit union runs in my family. My mother through county schools library qualified her, later when I worked at SBCC library I qualified. The best banking experience of my life. Hands down. Low employee turnover, personalized service. Their fees for services such as notarized signatures and cashiers checks. They utilize Union Bank for their own personal electronic teller so you have a wide range of locations to bank without incurring fees.

I've had my account here for about 25 years and even though the technology is not like what the big banks have, I love this little bank! They are personable, have great loan rates, have helped me prevent fraud and theft from my account and I'm proud to use them for most of my banking needs. Only negatives are That there is no atm or weekend access since SBBT sold out to Union Bank. I would love to see them establish a new relationship that allows for that.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
