Opened new checking and savings accts at SCCCU. A minor glitch appeared when I went to link another bank electronically. They deposit a few cents in, then withdraw to verify ability for me to make future transactions. Because account was opened with a business account check of mine, they need to place a hold until it fully posts. That triggered a NSF charge. The credit union reversed that fee, as well as one for printing my new checks which arrived the next day, not in 10 days. Fast work on that, and fine service from the branch. So far all I can say is the professional service I expect.

The credit union needs to have some extra hours open for banking either on the weekend or after 5pm and return to allowing drop box deposits. A lot of businesses cut back their services during Covid and I'm sure cut their staff too, but it is 2024 and time to hire more staff at the same level of service not just open new branches.

I've been banking here for years now, because I wanted to support something local. However its inconvenient hours (weekend hours cut during the beginning of COVID and never brought back), lack of online banking features, and consistently low quality and slow customer service make this place the worst bank I have ever been at by far. The most recent annoyance is when I tried to get a loan recently. I spoke to a rep named Eunice Rocha, who said that if they didn't finish processing that day that I could 'call back tomorrow.' I asked them if they were sure, since tomorrow was Saturday, when they are closed, and I told them that I needed to know whether it was approved by then. She told me that it was fine and that they would be there. As you can expect there was nobody there. I tried calling her and emailing her, but no response. And of course there is no way to get in touch with the credit union during the weekend, even online. This is pretty standard for this place honestly, and I'm getting really tired of putting up with it. Reading other reviews on Yelp and Google I can see that the MAJORITY of customers have a negative experience with this place. It used to actually be community oriented with friendly staff, back 15-20 ago. The current organization, uncaring and incompetent as it is, stays afloat mostly due to the good will and public image created a long time ago. If its supporters knew how far it had fallen, it would have closed down years ago.

Cindy is the only somewhat polite person I've encountered. I cringe every time I go inside because the people that work there are flat out rude and have bad attitudes, I had out had to tell one person she's straight up rude and don't be talking to me that way and then she immediately apologized. I think it's time you get some fresh help SCCCU.

Keep trying to give them benefit of the doubt, but this credit union acts like they don't want anyone who is employed in a 9-5 job to bank with them. Can not believe that NONE Of the branches have late hours, not even on Friday. When I started with them, they had late hours downtown on both Mondays and Fridays, now they use the "excuse" of Covid to cut services. Last time I tried doing an ATM deposit, after discovering them closed, the machine ate my check and gave no receipt. I had to go in on Saturday morning to fix it. Of course there is NO way to leave a message after they close, despite ONLY being allowed to leave message when open since they never answer the phone. To top it all off, when attempting to contact them through their website, it gives a "404 not found" message.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
