I left my big bank in disgust after one too many episodes of nation-wide malfeasance. Perhaps it wasn't exactly legal malfeasance, but it was morally suspect, and ethically disheartening. And yucky. I began using Westerra for all my financial needs, which after all are relatively simple compared to some folks. It was a good decision. I receive all the same services that I previously received at the large bank, and deep down inside I don't feel, well, yucky. I've used Westerra in particular for a few automotive loans - two, in fact - and they both went smoothly, the cars and the loan process. Speaking of cars, we use the drive-through a lot, my wife almost daily - the clerks or representatives are always courteous, friendly, and efficient. Update: recently, we refinanced our home loan, and we received really helpful assistance from Lonnie Burkholder, one of Westerra's mortgage loan officers. Lonnie was very supportive of our concerns and he was also very responsive to our many, many questions. Lonnie was skillful, I thought. He took care of business efficiently, but he also took time to make sure that we understood every step in the process. We're very grateful to him for the services he provided.

After 30 years, I closed my account. Because I’m a responsible adult and leave my savings alone and don’t use it, you wanted to charge me $8 a month? 30 years and now I have a bad taste in my mouth for your Credit Union. You made me sign up for digital statements, of which I pay no attention to when I leave my account alone. “We notified you on your Dec statement.” Was what I was told. When I asked for that $8 back it was non-negotiable. Make it make sense? I guess my money isn’t good enough for you. Enjoy the $8.

Waiting on hold for 10-15 minutes before getting a person on the phone isn't professional. Also, when I asked for the reps extension so I didn't have to wait the next time I called they refused to give it me... This company lacks professionalism based on each interaction I had with them. ADDED AFTER BUSINESS RESPONSE: I wanted to speak with the specific loan officer handling the account, not a call center employee. I left several messages that were never returned.

I don’t like this bank at all I rented a car they take out 920$ of my account 420$ for the car 500$ for deposit ok fine a few days later I take the car back I see they charge me 469$ instead of 420$ because I went through a toll ok fine so where is the rest of the deposit this keeps happening each time I rent a car and sometimes can’t rent because I don’t have enough money n my account expecting my deposit back they say my deposit came back but never does never shows but they say it was there how n yes I contacted the merchant it takes 24 for the charge to hit your account after you return the car but takes 3-10 business days for the hold/ deposit to come back into your account but your bank always says it never left but you couldn’t spend it came back but I didn’t see it how is this

I wouldn’t waste my time with this shame of a bank. Someone should look into them. How can I get a loan for $28,000 when the truck isn’t even worth 20? Now that I have been unemployed for a while now and can no longer afford insurance and this enormous payment i offered them a settlement of 23 plus i have been making on time payments for about a year on my car loan. I’ve tried a lot for help. even to voluntary give it back. They still threw me to the wolves.
