I can say this place is the WORST EVER. Do not trust this place or these lying tellers. They tell you one thing and then it’s the complete opposite. They will make you wait even 2 addtional weeks for a check posted to be cleared on a date prior to the date I deposited. And they’d till told me it randomly had to wait 2 weeks to be cleared after lying that they’d cash it as long as I bring my ID.

In the last few years of my dad's life, after having a stroke years before, and he was running out of money, this credit union singlehandedly obstructing me being able to get public assistance and get a caretaker for him. I will never forgive them for that. The suffering they caused my family is unspeakable. For some tiny bank account and enormous fronting about coming in person or mailing power of attorney, I had to give up and focus on his caretaking and watch him get disqualified from getting medicaid assistance. I spent hours talking with these people on the phone spread over years of panic. I don't know if there are more heartless people working in banking out there.

I had to jump through so many hoops to refinance my mortgage. My lawyer said they haven't seen such an arduous process to refinance a home. They don't accept emails of documents. You have to FAX them. Very few offices have fax machines these days so that was a pain. The fine print made me nervous but I felt I had no choice. Not many credit unions offer refinancing. The interest rate wasn't the best, despite having excellent credit. But, the closing costs were very low.

If I could give this business zero stars I would. On October 21, 2024, I went to the branch located on 84 Wadsworth Street in Hartford, CT. to make a payment on my loan. I had just gotten back from vacation and I either misplaced or lost my ID, passport and credit cards. I went into the branch and asked if I could PAY my loan and I would be able to provide them with any information they need to verify I am me. First I was told by member service that I should be able to pay my loan but I would not get the receipt. I went over to the teller section and was told without and ID, I can not PAY my loan. I asked even if I can pull my account up on my phone in front of them and provide any information they need to verify it is me, I still can not PAY my loan? I was told I can not pay my loan without ID. I asked to speak with the supervisor. I was told the supervisor was not there and I was speaking with the assistant supervisor. This same assistant supervisor who stated she took my payment in last month when I went into the branch to make my payment. I go into the branch every month to make a payment on my loan. I then asked who else can I speak with regarding this matter, as I was not trying to get any money out of an account or deposit into an account where the money can be withdrawn at a later time. I was told the assistant supervisor went to speak with the supervisor that was not there!!!!! After waiting for what seemed to be an eternity, I left. I was on my lunch break from work. Later that even I tried to transfer money from my savings into the loan account and I could not transfer money either. SMDH. At this point I do not know what to do. I do not know how long it will take to get my ID because everything is mailed to you now a days. I do no want my loan to go past 30 days, you know they would put that on my credit report immediately. If I was the type of person who did not care about my credit and obligation to my creditors, I would let them take a big L on this loan. I would allow then to charge it off. Unfortunately, that is not who I am. Needless to say , I will no longer bank at the credit union. They are not member friendly and their members have to go thru hell and back for anything. If they are treating their members this bad , imagine if a member provide a check to someone who is not a member and that person goes to the credit union to cash it. What would happen then? With all of this being said, I will file a complaint with NCUA to see if I can get any assistance there. If not, I will keep searching to find out where else I can complain about this credit union. Fortunately, I do not put all my eggs in one basket. So I will be banking with my other credit unions who are more member friendly. I do not think they realize, it's the members who keeps the credit union running. If their member service does not change in this day and age, I do not think they will be around for the long haul.
