Wow, where do I begin? I had recently purchased a vehicle and my interest rate was outrageous. I remembered I had just gotten a credit card and Rhonda had helped me with it. She was so wonderful and so I decided to get a refinance with the bank because of her awesome customer service. Rhonda and Randy worked their magic and my monthly payments were really great and my interest rate on the car was lowered by 5% or more just awesome man thank you so much Rhonda and Wendy you guys are awesome.

The branch manager - Arnoldo Nunez - was SO nice and understanding of my situation. I am glad to have gone into seeing him this morning.

Genuinely disappointed in my experience with Bright Star Credit Union. When I needed help during a difficult financial situation, they were ruthless and underhanded despite claiming to be "for the little guy." Credit unions are supposed to support their members, not treat them like big banks do. The disconnect between their marketing and how they actually treat members in need is striking. I expected better from an institution that claims to champion everyday people. When I needed them most, I felt like just another account number. Would recommend looking elsewhere for a financial partner that truly stands by their members. A disappointed former member

If you're looking for an account as a teach, check them out, however, BEWARE.. After over 7 years with BSCU and never an issue, and keeping my accounts after moving out of the state last year, i couldn't be more disappointed, and to think i used to rave about them. I got laid off in April and for the 1st time in my history with them I fell behind on my credit card payments. Well I had 3 charges hit my checking account at the same time, bringing me $3 in the negative, I got hit with 2 separate $35 fees. Then, because one of those charges was a credit card payment to them for my SECURED credit card, and they rejected it because all the fees brought my account in the negative (all for $3), the proceeded to retry the payment every other day, each time racking up another $35 overdraft and NSF fee. Needless to say, I couldn't afford to pay of $300 in fees, so I called them. The best they said they could do was reverse 1 fee 🤣 so, after all the years I was with them, no less than 8 referrals of friends and family, a loan, 2 credit cards and more, the closed my checking account because I couldn't pay it, nor would they reverse that mess. And again, since all of those charges were for my secured credit card, which they had $550 of my money stored, never ever late in years on either card, they cashed out my deposit, paid off my balance and closed both credit cards. Loyalty will get you nowhere with a company that won't work with you. Needless to say, I'm now reemployed, and I brought my business to Truist because they have NO OVERDRAFT FEES and they cover up to $100 if you're in the negative, and a second account for my business with SOFI, also, no overdraft fees! Sometimes miscalculations happen, and sometimes something gets forgotten, but to charges hundreds of dollars to make money is ridiculous.
