At first I was ready to write a bad review because I was given misinformation by the teller to wait for a call from the car loan rep within 48-72 hours. I waited 5 days and finally called myself. When Pamela Cook answered I was blown away because she already started mentioning numbers without ever speaking to me. I overreacted at first but she was so professional. She calmed me down, told me everything she needs and then told me, it will take 10 days for the check to clear. Had I known that, I would have deposited the money that same Monday. Thankfully, Pamela called me the following Monday and all's well, it end's well. I was very happy with the end result. Kudos to Pamela Cook for her professionalism and understanding of my reaction.

At one point in time it was a pleasure to do business with this credit union. I'm not sure what happened but the customer is absolutely horrible now. I recently applied for an auto loan which I've always used them for, and no one bothered to get back with me. After almost 2 weeks I started to contact them and was given the run around. I left messages and no one ever bothered to get back with me. When I finally got a real person on the phone and asked to speak to a manager, they at that time wanted to tell me that I needed to send in more documents. The manager didn't even have the professionalism or decency to get on the phone to speak with me. I'm not sure who is running the credit union now, but you all will lose many customers with that kind of service. When you all go to a hospital for anything you expect very good care, well guess what when I go to places, I expect the same. I've decided to go somewhere that my business will be appreciated.

Aixa, and I believe Oscar it was I talked to, were beyond helpful! I had a little problem and they were proficient, helpful and reassuring. Solved what seemed like a bit of a complicated case by the end of the day. Oscar worked when he came back from lunch and was very transparent. He didn’t stop or save it for later even if it was closer towards the end of the day. He is a great worker. Aixa was very understanding and was able to quickly find the right direction to go. They are great employees.

I hope this review can help you and save very significant time of yours. We tried to get a HELOAN for our home and it was a very very hard process from the first minute to the last. Every obstacle loan department throw us we overcome one by one until the discrepancy risen after 3 months of wait and very tough process the closing company asked almost 3 times more than we were informed by MEFCU loan department. It was impossible to reach the closing manager as our case was little complicated and MEFCU loan department was very hard to reach. At the end I said I will not pay this much closing for a $100K loan and they completely stopped the communication. No explanation at all. The closing supposed to be less than $2K but we end up almost $5K and everything stopped after months of wait. DO NOT waste your time.

Opened an account here years ago as an employee. Used them for a car loan and was offered the lowest APR compared to other providers. I’ve also had a personal loan here with no issues. Granted the hours aren’t extended like a larger bank but for the lower rates it’s worth it. The fraud detection on debit card is a little touchy but they just lock up card till you get a phone call from fraud alert (within 5 mins) asking you to confirm the attempted charge; for this reason I only use the card as a debit when I can I put a pin. Also card won’t accept incoming credits from PayPal and other payment apps (they may have resolved this by now). They do accept direct deposits. If any of these things will be an issue for you then have a larger bank be your primary. Never had an issue with customer service or getting a hold of them via phone & email.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
