I pulled all my funds and switched my direct deposit this morning, and honestly, I should have done it sooner. Gulf Winds is simply not a professional outfit for adults who have actual bills to pay and serious banking needs. The technology feels archaic. I had to go through three different debit cards with them before I finally got a tap card. What kind of banking institution is introducing their first available tap cards over halfway through 2025?Direct deposits arrive so sporadically it feels like someone has to physically walk into the office, drink their coffee, and flip a switch to turn them on for the day. But the real breaking point was their handling of a disputed charge. They turned my debit card off without asking me—leaving me with no access to money—and then went silent. It has been 72 hours with zero communication. They returned the money, but that is only half the battle when you leave a client stranded and unheard. To top it off, the customer service is dripping with irritation. When I tried to resolve these issues, the representative actually told me, "You keep mentioning Navy Federal, sir, this is definitely not Navy Federal." You are absolutely right—it isn’t. That is exactly why I switched my direct deposit and left. If you want professional banking, look elsewhere.

The last 2 times I visited the downtown branch the ATM outside says "Cabinet is not closed" and has an error. The people inside are even less capable of assisting. There were 3 employees working. The lady at the window needed 1 untrained employee + 1 who stopped helping the next person to help. She was dealing with her fees from bouncing checks... The loan agent was just chatting it up at the table with balance slips. 2 more people were waiting in line. I only needed the ATM. I learned to stop coming into this branch unless I really need to do something besides a deposit/withdrawal or even an ATM. I would love if they addressed the fact their employees are flat out inattentive to customers or even aware they can help more than one person. It's sad.

Absolutely outstanding experience with Gulf Winds Credit Union! From start to finish, their level of customer service was nothing short of exceptional. Every time I’ve interacted with this office, the staff has been incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional—but my most recent experience truly deserves recognition. A huge thank you to Jonathan Stallworth and Jasmine Warr for their incredible support in helping me close out my auto loan. They went above and beyond to make the process smooth and stress-free. Not only did they guide me through every step with clear and consistent communication, but they also worked hard to ensure I received the best possible deal. Jonathan and Jasmine didn’t just help close out the loan—they improved it. They found me a better warranty than I had before and secured excellent GAP coverage at a great price. Their attention to detail and dedication to helping customers is unmatched. It’s rare to find a team so committed to service, and I truly felt like a valued member rather than just another account. Gulf Winds Credit Union continues to set the standard for customer care, and thanks to people like Jonathan and Jasmine, I’ll be recommending them to everyone I know. Five stars all the way!

*Saufley Feild and Corner of Blue Angel* I walked into the lobby to hear the most nasty song about something "Unholy?" It's sick. This is a public institution and have a area for children to play as this music was playing. I'm going to make sure all my associates and church members know your morals and values are not in order with biblical values. That was pure evil being pumped in the lobby. Shame on you all Note* The Branch manager from a different location called me and apologized and said this would be corrcted

Unbelievable wait time of over 60 mins to close out my account. They had one person, new, at the teller counter, another working in an office and some woman walking around doing nothing at all. Terrible customer service, that’s why I closed my account out.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
