Georgia’s Own Credit Union has one of the most outdated, frustrating, and poorly designed banking experiences I have ever dealt with. There is no Zelle or instant way to move money between banks. Transfers take days through ACH, or you are forced to physically move cash between institutions, which is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. The mobile app is barely functional. You cannot see credit card transactions in the app and instead have to log into a separate website with a different login. There is no single place to view all accounts, which makes basic money management harder than it should be. Paying bills is unnecessarily painful. You cannot set up credit card autopay from another bank. You have to transfer money into a Georgia’s Own account first, wait for it to post, and then make the payment. Even paying a car loan with a debit card requires using a separate website and still takes days to process. To set up automatic car payments from another bank, they require emailing a PDF form with full banking details. Even that process did not work because the DocuSign access code was invalid. Customer service struggled to explain how their own systems work, support hours are limited, and accessing online services requires a member ID that you can only get by calling or visiting a branch. I am certain I am not the only customer who has experienced these issues or expressed disappointment. Compared to other banks that offer seamless, all in one apps with instant transfers and full visibility, Georgia’s Own is far behind. Once my loan and credit card are paid off, I will be closing my accounts

The staff here is great, but the credit union itself is stuck in the past. The app is outdated — you can’t even lock your card yourself. Member services shut down at 6 pm, and if your card gets restricted after hours, you won’t even get a text until the next business day when they finally text you. That’s unacceptable in 2025. The people are solid, but the systems and accessibility are way behind and make banking here a headache.

I applied for a secured credit card, but I didn’t receive a follow-up call. So, I called three times, and each time, I was told that someone would be calling me. (Lol, that was in October!) I’m annoyed because I have an inquiry on my credit and still no secured credit card.

I've been a service member since 2001, while working downtown I have frequent several locations. Although I'm not a fan of having to zig zag from downtown to Midtown, I tolerated because that's were my funds are. However this day 8/4 I needed to do a withdrawal, it displays this option isn't available. Very disappointed because there isn't any other ATM's downtown. I was directed to go to the ATM near a Publix on West Peachtree..well that wasn't quite a "Georgia's own" but I guess it accepts the initity companies as it displays several names. Therefore I was uncertain if I would be charged a fee, and I had to withdraw in quantities 20's. Although it was after closing, there were members in the Midtown branch, I was trying to make contact with them needless to say..they ignored me. Not even offering other nearby locations if it was. Poor customer service...not the first time

My parents came into to perform a wire transfer for a large amount on the morning of 10/27. A staff member made a huge nonsensical mistake and almost caused them to miss a deal. What a huge headache.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
