Westmark Credit Union is a credit union that is part of the history of Idaho Falls and local to south eastern Idaho. My experience is that they have some great people who work here that seem to care about their clients. I have banked here since I was about 9 years old. They have great loan rates and act just like a local credit union should. Other than all of the benefits, I have a couple of things that end up being on the annoying side: they close at 5:00 PM most days. So, if you have banking activities you need to do after work, well… you’re just not. They are still lagging a bit on technology and have always been the “late adopters” which is a little frustrating. However, overall, they’ve been a good bank here in Idaho Falls.

Got an auto loan through Westmark and opened up the app for the first time. Turns out they opened up a savings account for me without telling me. And then they tried to send me info via mail about said account and it was returned to them. So they got the correct mailing address and then charged MY savings account, that I never signed up for, $5 for the return mail service. So first time logging into my account I am already -$5 overdrawn. Because you guys couldn’t eat the $5 return mail fee, I will never put a cent into your credit union and will be refinancing my auto loan through someone else at the earliest possibility. Bunch of crooks. Multi billion dollar bank doesn’t need to charge me $5 for a mistake they made.

Because I fear retaliation from Westmark, I am not willing to share details about what issues I experienced. This 1 star review is regarding the judgmental and bias service I received in person at the 1st street branch.

We are setting up new accounts and needed some guidance. Jett was a fantastic person to work with. She tried to understand our situation and was so very kind. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with her. 10/10!!
