We can’t say enough great things about working with Phil Dykstra for our mortgage needs. From start to finish, he walked us through the lending process with professionalism, deep knowledge, and genuine care. He took the time to explain every detail, answered all of our questions, and made what can often feel overwhelming surprisingly smooth and stress-free. Phil was always responsive and proactive, keeping us informed at every stage and making sure we understood our options. His clear communication and step-by-step guidance gave us total confidence throughout the process. If you’re looking for a lender who truly has your best interests at heart, Phil is the person for you!

I've worked for the University for years and recently applied in person for an auto loan. I was denied any amount, which I won't contest. However, my representative was clearly not interested in helping, didn't respond to my emails for days, and essentially pushed me out the door on both of my visits after only a few minutes. At the end, I was sent an email telling me to go get a loan elsewhere. They gave me an Adverse Action because my credit took a hit this summer due to late student loan payments after having major vehicle repairs (which were unsuccessful and had to sell the car at a substantial loss). Despite being directly told everything else in my record was excellent regarding loans, bills, etc. and having painstakingly gone through my student loan provider to register for IDR, PSLF, and paid off any and all overdue balance (all of which I gave UICCU documentation for), they still refused to offer me any help. I'm obviously not owed financial assistance from this credit union, but after being recommended here by several friends and coworkers, I will share my negative experience here with them.

Just received a deceiving letter in the mail from the credit union. It states that in order to protect the member owners they want to to waive class action rights. What is about to come out about this "institution" if this letter is being sent out??? No one will respond to this comment because you are cowards. I will be in Monday morning to cancel my accounts. This is the final straw!

I have loved working with Phil at the UofI credit union for my mortgage loan. He has been so patient and helpful with all of questions and always offers a timely response.

Such an easy process to get my loan. I applied on a Friday and figured I would hear back Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Nope they replied back within 2 hours. Brooks was amazing to work with and answered any and all questions and he did not make us feel pressured to use them. This will be my third time getting a loan for my cars with U of I Community Credit Union. They are wonderful to work with.
