I made a $1500 deposit at the ATM at this co-op credit union. The machine kept $600 and spit out $900 back. They informed me I had to file a claim with my bank Navy Federal. I did file a claim with my bank and they said ALEC found no error or cash overage. I find that kind of odd considering that there are cameras on the ATM that would’ve shown the money being spit out, me calling the video teller literally seconds after it happened and I went inside of the branch. This incident happened back in November and now I am out $600. I’ve been unemployed and that money was very much needed. It’s crazy how banks make so much money but decide to keep $600 from us. If it was $20 I wouldn’t be making a big deal about it but it was $600!!! This is ridiculous.

My husband has been a member for years. We recently purchased a home and decided to finance with Alec because there is supposed to be a certain loyalty since credit unions are member owned. The first red flag was all these closing costs we were being charged. A week after we closed the rates went down. When I called about refinancing at the lower rate they said it would be $5,000! Shortly after that we started getting paperwork in the mail from another bank…they had sold our loan! I had previously had a home loan at First Community Credit Union in Missouri and they did not charge me closing costs and did not sell my loan. Shame on you ALEC. You are no different from a bank.

They did not have the ability to allow memebers to make payments online due to an issue on their end with the online services and have a $5.00 fee when you pay over the phone. There was no option to remove the fee. Worst place to bank. Why are memebers being penalized for the issues of the institution?

Recently I secured a vehicle refinance loan, at ALEC. The process was pleasant and professional. Kim went above and beyond, in supporting me. She is the reason and maybe the best rates out there that I use Alec’s services. In the past 8years since I’m a member I only had positive experiences with the branches and their services. Highly recommended!

The worst customer service possible they lost the title for my motorcycle. I called them this morning and told them that I'm coming to pay off my loan and they put me on hold for 10 minutes to verify they had my title, I showed up with the cash deposited it they made me wait fot 30 minutes later they said they do not have a title and just gave me a lean release form and said you have to go fill out paperwork at DMV and then they will mail me the title. I told them that I had called this morning and they said they have everything and the lady was like well they shouldn't have told you that. Took no accountability and didn't even apologize, I would encourage everybody to just bank somewhere else
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
