I recently went through a complicated refinance of a home my siblings and I inherited from our deceased parents. I was seeking to buy my siblings shares of the home to become the sole owner. Shenice Swopes was the mortgage processor who helped me on the closing side of the refinance. Oh my goodness, she was incredible! She was so kind, caring and empathetic. I faced several issues along the way that threatened the great interest rate. My parents' mortgage company was a nightmare to deal with and caused a lot of complications that delayed my closing date three times! Shenice kept me calm and hopeful, and was able to get the expiration date of my loan extended each time. She worked tirelessly to work through the issues, including contacting me after hours and on her days off! In the end, I was able to get the loan with a great rate. Shenice was the driving force in all of that. I am so grateful for her. Consumers is truly lucky to have someone like her. I give Shenice and Consumers my highest recommendation! Thank you Shenice!

I have tried probably a dozen different checking accounts and they do a great job of making me want to stay here. Their app is easily the best one. It works the best, has the most features, OUTSTANDING security features, same day free transfers, and fee-less checking accounts. Great job guys!

What a strange update. They saw my original Google review and that apparently triggered another look at my loan application. They emailed AND called me this morning with word that I was approved..... Now that interest rates are dropping, I am interesting in refinancing a car I bought in 2024. ChatGPT suggested CCU. I met all their criteria, have a 800+ FICO score, plenty of income, $20k in equity on the car, etc. They charged me $5 to become a member at the time of application. I assumed this would be smooth sailing. Nope. They declined my request to refinance a $76,000 outstanding loan (original loan was like $96,000). They declined me because the other two car loans on my credit report were too low (they are leases that are between $20k and $30k). Wait? You declined me because I don't owe enough on my truck? So this cost me $5 AND a hard hit on my credit report. They also mentioned I was declined because I was not a member, then what the heck was the $5 for? Not happy.

I recently had an issue with CCU not backing up what they told me for a loan rate. I was extremely frustrated and ready to move my accounts elsewhere after 25 years. To their credit, they reviewed the situation and resolved it to my satisfaction. They're bigger and not quite as "family" feeling as MECU back in the day, but they did the right thing and I feel valued as a customer. Errors happen. Making them right separates the good from the bad.

If you want a bank that is workable and great with communication.... I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST ESLEWHERE. this bank repeatedly breaches their own agreements in loans then gives attitude customer service yeah they don't have it. If I could give 0 stars I would but I wouldn't trust this hot mess with your loans or your accounts your better off going to a TRUSTED BANK!!! do not waste your energy life and time with accounts with this credit union there are much better ones with better customer integrity than this one. Their system messes up and it's your responsibility not theirs!!! Filed a complaint with the NCUA have fun consumers your a risk we aren't willing to take anymore!!!
