I can't recommend Canals and Trails Credit Union enough! The team is exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with any questions or needs. What I appreciate most is their active involvement in the communities they serve. I've had the pleasure of working with both Matt and Janet, and I can’t say enough good things about them! Their dedication to providing outstanding service truly sets this credit union apart!

I've NEVER had any complaints about Canals & Trails but for about the last month their phones are shut off before closing. I've even gotten the other credit union in Romeoville. Are you short on staff? The ladies there are extremely kind and hard working. Can't imagine them turning the phones off when you're supposed to be open What's going on? Somethings definitely changed ...

I would leave no stars but its not an option. This is the worst place ever. Branch Manager at Lockport is EXTREMELY RUDE AND IGNORANT. Hassle to get statements. Every other bank you can see them online. Closing account soon. Give Abraham the members service representative the Branch Manager position.

Impossible to secure a timely auto loan. The loan department works only Mon, Tues, and Wed which is absurd. It seems like loans are processed actively maybe for 1 or 2 days out of those already limited 3. When calling to inquire about a Wednesday deadline on a existing application, Matt in the loan dept hung up on my husband before he could even finish his sentence. No sense of urgency or understanding with Matt that this is not the car market in which you can sit around for days waiting for them to move your financing along. Awful choice applying with them for a second loan. They may cost you the car you want in this aggressive car market. It’s been a month long process of chasing the loan department due to their limited hours and we regret giving them our business.

Canals and Trails will be the first and only place I look for loans. When I was 18 with new credit they gave me a loan to buy a used car. It wasn't necessarily expensive, but they afforded me the opportunity to build credit without a cosigner, something I couldn't get. In fact, I applied multiple places and was turned down everywhere but here. Better yet, I was given reasonable financing (9% on a car for an 18 year old, remember). I paid that loan off 3 months early and when I was looking to get a loan for my Motorcycle, they were the first and only place I had to go. I earned a better rate thanks to my past and now somewhat-established credit, and they made it such an easy process. I recommend them to anyone I know who needs a loan.
