I have been with Empeople for over 12 years or so and have never had an issue. Since this company name change I guess other things have changed and that includes the ability for them to get back in touch with you. I was working with a loan officer on a mortgage loan and instead of getting back with me or even updating me on the process, I have been ignored consistently. This is making me think that not only do my loans need to be moved to another company, but that my general banking needs to find another company to be with. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. As our home is on the market, I wasted my time waiting for a response for these people.

I have been a long time member. I seldom have loan but every 5 year or so I get one for a bit. I remember last time I tried to get a loan was maybe five years ago. I didn't qualify for the best rate because my score was 1 point off the score they desired. So there was no way around it. I didn't apply for the loan and got a better deal through a different agency. Today I looked into a vehicle loan wanting to qualify for the 4.74% rate. They said I would quality as your scores and activity are all good to qualify but you have money being deposited into a savings account then it gets transferred to checking. They said you need it to do directly into the checking then in 90 days it will allow us to give you the 4.74& rate. The loan guy said there was nothing he could do about it. I called and spoke to another representative and she said the same thing there was nothing they could do about it. No appeal no person that could say "You do indeed qualify, or we can give you the good rate and we are not going to lose you over a technicality." They just said "Sorry and bye." So it's "bye" for me. I have sent much business to this credit union over the years and now for the first time in 15 years I may start looking at another institution. John Deere Employees Credit Union doesn't have the same name anymore and they sure do not have the same mentality.

This credit union has completely lost its way since the most recent merger. What was once a member-focused institution with excellent customer service has turned into an unprofessional, dismissive operation. The employees are rude, condescending, and clearly couldn’t care less about their loyal customers. My dad has been a member for over 30 years, and our entire family for more than a decade but after the treatment we’ve received recently, we’re done. It’s a shame to see a credit union that built its reputation on community and trust become so careless and disconnected. Loyalty clearly means nothing to them anymore.

I have been with ecu since 2022 and was happy until recently. Few of my bills didn't pull when I set up the transfer so it put me late. Ive been paying extra on my bill every 2 weeks. Well this last bill I was waiting on my paycheck and they called me about the bill and I told them that im waiting on my paycheck and that it might come in that day. Friday November the 21st. And told the guy multiple times call me at 2 pm and hopefully we can get the transfer done. Never received a call or anything so I waited. No call. Today around 1 they called me saying they never received payment. I told the guy I said call me at 2 pm on Friday but I never received it and that I've been waiting for them to call. All the guy wanted to do was argue with me. It was the same guy I spoke to last time. He said that I never said anything about that. Of course I got upset and raised my voice saying that that's what I told him to do and so he raised his voice at me arguing with me about his error. Just very unprofessional and obviously he didn't listen to me and never will. None of these people listen. And this isn't the first time I fought them on something. I'm furious and any other issue like that will be reported.

Changed from a fantastic, employee focused operation to a standard banking nightmare where you will never talk to the same person and no-one has your best interest in mind. Incredible drop in customer service unfortunately. They also used to offer very competitive rates but their small loans and HYSA rates wouldn't compare to any given major bank or credit union. Edit Feb 2026: Months after closing my accounts I get a call from Empeople that I owe them $40 in Fee's that had racked up on my card that I was assured I had closed in good standing. This has damaged my credit score
