My 89 year old mother purchased a visa card from Services Credit Union. Expiration on the card is 11/29. She never activated it, and now the credit union says there is no balance due to the the fine print inactivity fee of $5/month. How can that fee apply when the card was never activated? I've called them numerous times, and they refused to me with this. NEVER use this credit union. RIP OFF! I am going to contact the BBB and the State Attorney General.

THIS IS A SCAM. Do not purchase these cards, or visa gift cards in general. They charge you to purchase the card, and then if you do not use the card within a 12-month period they take the value off of your card in five dollar increments, every month. So my son's grandparents bought him a $50 gift card for a total price of nearly $55 and now that card has zero value. All because he misplaced it. This is theft, pure and simple.
