Unfortunately, I have had nothing but negative experiences with CEFCU regarding my auto loan. Most recently, I called to make a payment and offered to pay money toward my loan, but Heidi refused to accept it. What should have been a simple conversation quickly turned into an argument. I made it clear that I was not calling to argue—I was calling to make a payment and discuss my options. However, Heidi became hostile and argumentative very quickly, making the situation unnecessarily stressful. I was also told that multiple attempts had been made to contact me, yet I have checked my phone records and have no missed calls or voicemails from her. Being told something that does not match my records was frustrating and disappointing. I understand that financial institutions have policies to follow, but customers who are making a genuine effort to pay their bills should be treated with respect. Instead of receiving assistance, I felt dismissed and spoken to in a way that was unprofessional. Based on my experience, CEFCU has shown very little willingness to help customers facing difficult circumstances. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled.

I will start by saying all of the employees I have interacted with have been very nice. That said, no one who works here seems to have any idea of what they're talking about, though they say things with confidence. My experience in setting up an account with this CEFCU branch has been a major source of stress because they have bungled things at every stage of the process. When I set up the account, they told me I could walk in and get a debit card printed. When I came in to get the debit card, someone else told me that they couldn't do that because it was my first card. They said I had to fill out a form and have the card mailed to me. While I'm waiting for my card to be mailed, my HR department calls to say my checking account with CEFCU doesn't actually exist and they couldn't deposit my funds. I go back in to CEFCU, and the employee says, "oh yeah, we missed something on your form. You're right--that account doesn't exist." So we get the paperwork straightened out. I ask the guy if this will affect the debit card that I ordered the previous week, and he assures me it won't. Two weeks later, the debit card has not arrived. I call CEFCU, and they tell me that no debit card was ever ordered. I ask what happened to the form I filled out. They don't know. The lady says that I can just come into the bank though and they will print one off for me. I tell her I was already informed that I couldn't do that. She says, "whoever told you that was wrong". "Well why did they tell me that", I ask her. "I have no idea", she says. This circus act has been my experience at CEFCU every step of the way. I wish I had never chosen this bank to set up my account, and I will warn anyone else who asks not to bank here.

***ZERO STARS!!!*** I’ve been with CEFCU since I was 16. Only bank account I’ve been with for nearly 10 years. They unexpectedly locked my card, & told me I can no longer use it for 6 months. Was never informed about my card being locked & was FALSEY LIED TO about my card being unlocked on a specific day. LESLIE WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, & was extremely rude!!! She loves her job, even though I'm sure she barely makes anything. The workers do not communicate with one another. I highly suggest you DONT TRUST CEFCU as your only banking account, because they could truly care less about anything besides “their money”. will be finding a new bank account ASAP.

Asked for deferment to help pay down a credit card to pay it off quicker, was told I couldn't do this. I have had an excellent payment history with them payed early even. They even asked me what the deferment was for which I feel is none of their business as long as I'm making my payment in a timely manner. I have never had a problem with any banks and now I am and it's with this cefcu I regret getting a loan here (3) yrs now. I will be glad when I make the final payment because I will not be returning if I am going to be treated as if I don't make my payments. If I could give a less of a star I would.

Management has shown they will say whatever they can to just get you off the phone or to put the responsibility on their staff instead. They tried to withhold my title, for what turned out to be some made up reason. They could not reference policy to back up what junk they tried to feed me. And instead of admitting they were wrong, management just avoided me, until drove myself to a corporate branch. Turns out they couldn’t get that rule in writing after all, and my title was shipped that day. Good Job, CEFCU
