Our experiences at Ascentra CU have been great! Recently, we worked with Beau Van Loo to secure a Home Equity Line of Credit. Beau was professional, helpful, and kind throughout the process. We especially appreciated his timely communications.

It was my go to place especially as a young man with no credit history they lent me the money I needed to purchase a vehicle for work and have had 3 loans, checking, savings, and credit card with them. I enjoyed them so much that I continued to use them after I moved to Des Moines and did so for 3 years. Unfortunately problems with my credit card as a brick and mortar location led me to change banks and since then the problems have been continuous. The paperwork done digitally for my loans was lost, incomplete or something of the such that I received a default notice on my vehicle, then the credit card which I stopped using continued to accumulate charges. Eventually leading me to withdraw most of my money save for the savings account and closed both the checking and credit cards, now I have another default notice on a card that I was told was closed 2 months ago and have multiple phone calls getting passed around call centers to finally speak to someone that can correct the situations for both the loan and credit card. They also seem to be in the habit of calling about these issues but not leaving messages. Makes it difficult for someone in public safety to be notified of issues prior to receiving letters. It was a great institution when I lived a mile from a branch but not so much anymore with the distance and difficulty speaking to an actual member of the organization.

As a certified "Grumpy Old Man" I an embarrassed to admit I cant think of a single complaint. From the day I contacted you about possibly moving banks I have been extremely pleased with my decision, though at times a bit confused. How do you do it...people answer phones, employees smile and answer your questions ( as importantly if they cant they will find someone who can) I have been told that people, in todays market like dealing with impersonal customer service, it gives them comfort in their anonymity. yeah , sure. Ascentra Credit Union is terrific. You call on the phone, visit on line or walk in the door , you are treated with the same considerate and friendly service. I have yet to be treated any other way.

Joining the Ascentra Credit Union was fast and easy! They have great service and many more customer perks than "other" credit unions I have had experience with. I am looking forward to peaceful, easy banking for a very long time with them. I definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for a great credit union!
