We have banked there too long. We have had multiple experience of short change accounts,. Won't let us transfer money from one account to another, won't let us use our card to pay for purchases, too many overdraft fees, trying to close our account gives us static. Alot of days not friendly on phone or in person. Avoid at all costs to save sanity.

Yesterday (7/22/19) I had to dump People’s Credit Union. This situation was a long time coming but, I was being lazy and didn’t want the hassle of finding a new bank/credit union. Previously that day I made a purchase in Ames and realized I didn’t have enough in my account to cover it. I called People’s and spoke to Holly advising her of the situation. I told her I would be on my way there to move money from my savings to my checking to cover the -$6.11 balance. I asked her will I be charged the overdraft fee? Holly stated “no as long as you move it over in person”. After returning to town and moving money over I checked my account and noticed a $22.00 overdraft fee. I called People’s and spoke to Jamie telling her my situation who stated “the fee is automatic and the credit union pays dues and they have to charge me”. After my conversation with both these employees I’m closing my accounts and found another bank to assist me with my finances.

Do not recommend. Been sick for 3 months and the bank closes the account without a call or text like they said. Went back to work and now no bank. Wow good job all of you.
