To the Management of Commonwealth Credit Union, The purpose of this review is to formally notify you of the end of my relationship with your institution. While this is a financial transaction, it is also a decision based on a profound failure of service and ethics on the part of your institution. I have been a loyal member of this credit union for fifteen years. For over a decade, I operated under the impression that the "credit union difference" meant a focus on people over profits and community over cold metrics. However, during a period of significant personal and financial hardship over the last two years, that belief was thoroughly dismantled. Instead of receiving the professional empathy or collaborative support one would expect after fifteen years of loyalty, I was met with an inhumane level of indifference. I was treated as a liability to be managed rather than a human being navigating a difficult chapter. It is deeply disappointing that an institution I supported for a third of my life chose to treat me with such disregard when I was most vulnerable. I have since transitioned my finances to a bank that has already shown me more respect, dignity, and investment in my future as an educator than Commonwealth Credit Union offered in the last twenty-four months. I am closing this chapter of my life, and that includes my relationship with this credit union. I hope this letter serves as a reflection for your leadership on how you treat long-term members who hit a rough patch. Sincerely, A Former Credit Union Member

I have been a long-term member with CCU and I’ve always had a great experience with this financial institution. Great service, staff and very clean. All of my years with CCU have been a very positive simple process for my banking and leaves me very satisfied with them.

I walked down here from my house to get bank statements so I can get food stamps for my family of 3, they gave me the bank statements for my daughters account, free of charge, but God forbid you come back 2 days later asking for the same thing from a different account and they'll charge you 6 dollars. She's that blonde toddler that feels like starving a family of 3, we'd have food stamps tomorrow but nope. Unethical practices all around. Don't spend a single minute here unless you want to use the coin machine, then it's perfect.

Complete waste of my time! Was working with Jimmy Atkins and dragged along thinking I had a chance of getting a loan. LLC looking to get a loan for investments with in state and out of state members. They still ran a credit check on every member BEFORE being denied for having out of state members. No official denial letter or email received.... I'm not sure if he did anything, maybe just ran a credit check.... Shouldn't you confirm with your loan committee before wasting people's time....?

I have been a customer of CCU for 26 years, am a former two-time (part-time & full-time) employee, and I have always had a great experience. My whole family are long-term members and I have never had a problem with them. The set-up is convenient, clean and organized, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
