1 star is generous. I just got denied a home loan from my bank in Fort Kent, ACADIA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION for a really infuriating reason. I wasn't denied because of my credit, because I've taken very good care of that, but it's because my income is government funded now that I've chosen to be my mother's PAID full time caregiver. They tell me it's their policy that they don't lend to people with that kind of income, because if my mother no longer needs me, I'll lose my income and how will I ever make mortgage payments then? HELLO! I will so the same thing I've always done when employment ends somewhere, I go find another job. Furthermore, why do they care how I'm going to pay my mortgage? I'm furious!

I grew up in FK and have that small town feeling deep in my bones. I've spent my adult life in RI and still go to Acadia FCU for mortgages as they treat you like a person and not just a number. Dealing with Jessica St. Jean has been a pleasure for 18 years. Thank you for making each process so "easy". Dawn Cruz

Acadia, is truly a credit union dedicated to all that they do. The staff is true to their word and they go above and beyond each day to meet the needs of all members and genuinely care for them.

Not exactly what I hoped for from a credit union, but better than a bank.

If I could rate it 10 stars I would. Best financial institution ever! Anytime I need something no questions asked I get it. If you want to be treated like family this is the place!
