Been using FSCU in Skowhegan for over 25 years. When my credit score was not so good and needed a loan they took a chance on me. Throughout out the years I got loans to fix up my truck and pay property taxes. My credit score is now excellent and FSCU provided loans on my new cars. Always friendly and great service. The location is perfect and convenient, thank you.

Have been with this credit union for almost 4 years. They offer great customer service! I received my auto loan through them and they were easy to work with and made the process extremely smooth. Would absolutely recommend!

My story is old, but I didn't know there was a way to leave reviews for this credit union and now that I do, I'm telling my story. I had no issues doing business with Franklin Somerset Federal Credit Union, until my son turned of age. He is autistic. When he turned 18, I went to court with him for guardianship. The judge told me I would need to open a bank account for him, so I went immediately after court to Somerset Federal Credit Union in Skowhegan because that was the only place I had accounts at the time. I was told by them that my son does not have enough money to have a bank account and they refused to open one for him. That is discrimination!!! It is also the reason why the only money I now put in my account there is just enough to cover the mortgage payment I have through them. Once that's paid off, I will be closing that account. FYI - I went to Bangor Savings in Skowhegan. They opened an account for my son without issue. I have also moved my accounts over there now and am much happier with the service I receive.

This is a thoughtful review and not written out of anger. I personally would urge any non-business customer to think of a different place to bank. The reason I have had such an issue with this bank is due to its lack of common sense. I set up my bank account before I left for basic training so my account would automatically pay my car loan when I was gone. For some reason or another (I do not blame the loan team because every loan officer at the Farmington branch is amazing), my account did not automatically pay the loan. So my wife saw this and went to the bank to resolve the issue. She was tossed between 3 bank tellers and then was told that I had to be present to set up automatic payments. She could barely pay the bill the 2 months I could not contact anyone. So when I arrived to AIT I made a call to the bank and again tried to explain the situation. The bank teller told me to come into the bank (obviously not possible) and said there was no other way to set up automatic payments. I thought this was just insane and still to this day must pay it manually. I also find the lack of features for this bank annoying. I only use this bank for my loan. I love the Farmington branch loan officers. However, the bank teller team at the Farmington office need some work. I know this bank does not have active duty members as a thought which is fine for the area (theirs no reason for this credit union to do that) however its pain staking there thought process is on how to handle situations. If you are a new business or need a loan and live in the Farmington region I would recommend this bank. Others may need to take another look around.

Best bank I’ve ever used! Loan process is fast and easy, and every branch is always helpful and polite. No issues in almost 18 years with Franklin-Somerset 😃
