I opened an account online and was approved. I went into the branch in person with my ID and legal documents, including a power of attorney for my mother who has dementia. I am her caregiver and was trying to get everything set up before relocating her to Florida. Four days after opening the account, Saco Valley froze my debit card without warning, claiming they βmade a mistake.β This left me stranded in Florida with no access to my own money. I verified my identity AGAIN, and they temporarily unblocked it. Today a direct deposit for my mother arrived, and I resent the POA they requested. Instead of processing it, they abruptly shut my entire account down β again leaving me stranded with no access to funds. Their negligence caused significant distress during an already difficult situation, and I will be filing a formal complaint with the CFPB. Avoid this credit union.

The male employee a balding male with glasses again accosted parents in the BACK parking lot not near the handicap spot or main bank entrance. Demanding that they move immediately. Even as kids were changing in my vehicle for which I informed him he refused to leave my car side. I advised I'd move as soon as she was done and he again demanded NOW. He also walked up on another mother with a young child and a baby in a carrier...several other parents as well. Nobody was in the way of bank activities, handicap or otherwise. Literally just trying to drop kids off to class and leave. More so using the Church parking area. There are NO signs to say bank parking only. This man is aggressive and rude even when you are attending to comply within reason. It's worth noting this was at 3:40 and the bank closes at 4pm.

The customer service at Saco Valley Credit Union is top notch. Everyone from Marsha, Matt to Shawn and all the tellers are all very helpful and available to help with all of your needs. I switched from a traditional bank to Saco Valley Credit Union about 9 years ago and never looked back. They make you feel like family. I highly recommend SCVU for all of your financial needs.

One of their male employees had nothing better to do today than to intimidate and harass a mother with a baby for daring to park in the SVCU parking lot on "their busiest day of the month." He continued to harass her when she took more than two minutes to get out of the parking lot because she was informing another patron of a better place to park. This is not acceptable behavior.

Saco Valley is the best bank I've ever had! Unfortunately, we moved and it was too complicated to keep up with shared branching---but when we lived in Saco, they were always very friendly, and always willing to help me with whatever I needed help with. There were several times they helped me get my money back either from a internet scam (more than $400!!), and fees from other creditors, etc. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
