Home to the town of Winthrop, this Credit Union has been reasonable with their interest rates. ATM(s) (Winthrop, Wayne, Augusta) are constantly out of commission which makes it hard to always be close to home and withdraw funds. They’ve onboarded a lot of new and friendly faces, which was much needed, and makes the personal experience warming and welcoming.

Very hard to make payments for loans. Thankful for the loan but wish it was easier to make payments they are not very convenient at all. Couldn't get bank to bank transfer to work and did direct deposite and still have to some how get there b4 they close and sign paperwork again to allow them to take the money its crazy how they do business

If you want a credit union with a local phone number that has the auto attendant set so the call is disconnected as soon as you try to transfer anywhere, enjoy not having emails and portal messages responded to, like being at the only credit union that does not allow deposits at any of their ATM's, and has an entire staff of employees with rude attitudes and who are not able to make transactions be a simple and painless process - this is likely the place for you. If however you like to use ATM's, like having folks be pleasant to you and actually treat you like a customer, like having your bank actually respond to you with respect and in a timely manner and not make even the simple things seem to be the end of the world for them that they have to go out of their way to perform then anyplace is better than Winthrop Area Federal Credit Union.

Probably some of the worst customer service I have ever received from multiple different employees, on multiple different occasions. I was even laughed at, for a few of my questions over the phone. Have been a member for almost ten years, and looks like I won’t be getting to that bench mark. Go to a different credit union
