The worst location of the worst bank in Baltimore. If you’re expecting employees to have good attitudes, try to fix problems, and communicate well. Find any other bank to go to.

Worst pos bank ever. Waiting for them to deposit my money in my account for 3 days now, God only knows what is taking so long. My time matters zero to these jerks.

Rates are really not competitive, particularly for savings. Online banking services are not on par with other CUs or commercial banks - there are a lot of UXD flaws. Customer service really does try, getting through is challenging. The main positive experience has been with securing a mortgage at a competitive rate so h/t to that department. But setting up mortgage payments is at best frustrating & disappointing. The online system shows selection options that get you through several screens only to end at an error message, because it seems that the options are not allowed for a mortgage. (But they're right there on the screen.) Also there's an option to apply any excess payment to the principal but it turns out you have to send a website a secure message each time to have the payment excess applied that way. Apparently the option is applicable for some but not all loan types. Big UXD fail.

Terrible Service for International Students My experience with Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union (JHFCU) has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, particularly as an international student. Over the last two weeks, I have been going back and forth with them to resolve an issue regarding an international wire transfer. Despite using the exact same details as in previous successful transactions, they repeatedly insisted that the error was on my end, which was simply not true. Every visit involved a new person handling my case, requiring me to retell the entire story from the beginning. This lack of continuity wasted hours of my time and highlighted their unprofessional approach. Each time, I was given a different excuse—once it was the account number, another time it was the beneficiary name—but none of their claims held up. When I suggested they contact M&T Bank, under which their account operates, they flatly refused, saying they had no means to contact the bank. It is baffling that they cannot inquire about transactions related to their own accounts. Promises to follow up were routinely broken. Despite assurances that I would receive updates via email, I had to chase them myself, only to be met with radio silence. Their responses to my queries were consistently unhelpful, often defaulting to, "We don’t know." This level of incompetence and lack of cooperation has made dealing with JHFCU an extremely frustrating experience. As an international student, I would not recommend relying on their services for critical banking needs.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
