My experience with LBCU has been great. I'm just getting acquainted with the banking side but opening an account was seamless; the approval was instant and the email follow up was clear, concise and detailed important account information. Much of my experience has been the opposite - convoluted, having to wait for physical mail, no customer support etc. I had an active account within 5 minutes! In the context of my HELOC, Joe's been great. Typically you apply for these things, wait a few weeks, do the appraisal, and two months later you get an answer. I have 3 people on my account and the communication has been great, we should close within a week. Look forward to banking with them.

It's very unfortunate that whenever you want to give a business a chance, you instantly receive a sign. that happened instantly when I entered this credit union. the attitude demeanor and the nonchalantness of not caring to assist you as a non-member with the intent to join is obvious. you don't want me or my business banking. I went in with the attempt to begin my consultant business bank account but prior to even having that discussion I simply asked if I could do co-op banking. I was in the process of also looking for a new bank as I just moved to the South Shore. Amy reminded me that there are unwelcoming and unfriendly people at this establishment and you have made it very clear that my money is welcomed elsewhere. I will never again return to this establishment at Amy was extremely rude, non-caring, non-hospitable, and honestly made me want to scatter out the business instantly. people like Amy remind me of why you shouldn't try new businesses and stick with your own. you don't treat people like nonchalant unwantedness just because it was close to 4:00 p.m. you never know who you potentially are turning away. in addition after informing Amy that she would not hospitable she began speaking with her colleague about it as if there was no point of trying to resolve the issue. she really responded thank you I guess. I told her that she should work on her hospitality and she rolled her eyes. these are the people that you want to hire then those are the people that I will not trust with my money. in addition to the colleague that knew that she was in the wrong and tried to advise her that she was okay, you are wrong as well. everyone else do not give your money here. it's about time that we deserve to be treated better and especially as an African-American woman we are no longer tolerating attitude undeserving just because you don't know who I am. P.s I told her I was going to write a review, but as she clearly showed, she didn't care. She didn't care to rectify because a simple conversation I would of not written this. But if you do not care, neither will I. P.P.S All the reviews show that there is someone at this bank with a severe attitude issue. Do something before people refuse to come here.

I have used Liberty Bay Credit Union several times. Their rates are very competitive for home and auto loans. Anybody that I have worked with has been knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I have refinanced home loans, refinanced auto loans, and now opened a HELOC account. Each one of those has gone seamlessly. There have never been any delays, broken promises, or unnecessary headaches. If you need help or clarification on something you can call and actually talk to a person without waiting on hold forever. Great customer service across the board. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend lbcu to a friend or family member.

The customer service could be better. I came in to open a CD and savings account The person I spoke with was very curt with me. The paper work I was given had the incorrect amount on it and my name misspelled. I also didn't get a receipt . I went back and she made things right. It was also closing time on a Saturday but still.

Cool credit union, love the itm machine. I cannot recall any experience with any of the tellers that was less than pleasant. My only complaint is the closing of the downtown branch.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
