I've been a NEFCU customer for nearly 30 years, and I have always been happy - until the recent merger and the app "update" that was done recently. Since that time, the app has been more cumbersome and I have become more and more dissatisfied with the level of customer service provided. After all these years, I am considering changing to a different Credit Union, and will not recommend NEFCU going forward.

They offer no way to access your card or any services if you’re traveling, forgotten your pin, etc. if it’s after 5 pm in their time zone. The alternative phone number they provide for services explicitly state that the number they provided does not provide service to our NETFCU. Forced to sleep in my rental when my card locked at a hotel because I was not able to reach services via any means provided by them. Horrendous service, only valid as a savings bank, and only if you do t think you’ll ever need to reach that money outside of cushy office hours.

5/5 stars when performing a walk in transaction. 0/5 stars for everything else. I have not been able to contact a human being by phone in years. Used to be able to get a check mailed out, but can no longer even talk to someone, regardless of the number used to call. They keep Eisenhower-era bankers hours, so if you actually are a current Teamster and go to work every day, you most likely will not be able to get in to the lobby/office for other things. The number of branches leaves much to be desired, as well. I only know of 1 but heard there's a second branch farther north of Boston. I didn't join for convenience, that's what Citizens in supermarkets are for. But when I really need something, better hope there's no Monday holiday or anything else, even on Saturday. I'm happy to be a member, and absolutely adore the ladies of the lobby, and Ed is fantastic. This is not a people problem.

Honestly I do not understand the negatives reviews. This bank has been so helpful to me in so many ways for me since english is my second language and I sometimes struggle with the language (I'm still learning) They are very patient and try to understand me and help me understand everything. I've called them so many times in my last vacations with problems and they always resolved and helped me in every situation that I had during my vacations. I love how they take care of my money by putting limits on me😁. I even refinanced my car loan with them at the lowest interest rate possible for me. They have a great staff ready to help, thank you so much guys 🙂.
