The staff have always been friendly, and helpful to fix any issues that may come happen in the banking world. The website and mobile app leave much to be desired, and I've found myself forced to call the bank to make routine updates. They do offer some extremely competitive auto loans, with very low interest rates. It could make sense to join the bank just for a specific lending product like this. This is a great local bank, but they leave much room for their banking competitors. The interest rates on savings accounts are insanely low when compared to any high-interest savings account offered by competing banks. The app and website offer much less functionality than competitors. The limited business hours and access to support during those hours can be frustrating when time is of the essence, like when you need to freeze accounts, or report unrecognized charges. In order to issue a stop payment, you are required to physically visit the bank and sign the paperwork in person. This is a local banking option, and a good secondary option, but I would not recommend this as your primary bank.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I called to inquire about an outstanding truck loan after my father’s passing, and the representative who answered didn’t even bother to state their name. They were short, unhelpful, and provided no details—just the total amount due. No compassion, no guidance, nothing. I had to call my own bank just to get things sorted because this place was completely useless. If this is how they handle sensitive situations, they seriously need to train their staff on basic customer service and empathy.

I’ve been with SFCU for almost 30 years now and have always been treated with the utmost respect. It pains me to read some of the reviews because I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this bank. I have had my mortgage through them for many years and couldn’t be happier with their service. Anytime I’ve had a question, whether by email, site messaging or via phone, they are always quick to respond and are not just helpful but in my opinion, go above and beyond! I love the feel of a neighborhood bank where everyone recognizes you and greets you with a smile. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

If I could give them a no star that exactly what they would’ve got, there was some fraud with my Husband account and went into the bank went in the bank to have it resolve and we ended up more upset than ever I find them to be so rude especially the receptionist her name is Betty. I was even planning to open up an account at that same bank, and after the way we were treated and the bad service that we receive I decided not to. I can’t wait for all this to clear up with My Husband so he can close that account and go somewhere else with our business, Please do not bank at this bank. I find them to be so rude and unprofessional

Have been a member with SFCU for many years and have always received excellent and friendly customer service! Had a recent incident involving fraud with my credit card and they went above and beyond to prevent and help me in what could have been a nightmare situation. Very Thankful and Appreciative for all they do!
