I had a wonderful experience at Frankenmuth Credit Union thanks to Meagan. She was incredibly easy to work with and handled everything I needed quickly and professionally. What really stood out, though, was her sense of humor and the way she made the whole process feel comfortable—more like talking with family than doing business. It’s rare to find someone who can be both efficient and personable at the same time, but Meagan truly delivered. I’m grateful for the great service!

I would not recommend Frankenmuth CU. Opened our accounts about 5 years ago for their cool loan rates and products. Had an auto loan with them, that was conducted through text message. I asked for GAP and Mechanical coverages (and have text messages to prove it). Somehow those never ended up on my loan, but a different product I never asked for was on it (that costs more money). I am extremely familiar with financial documents, and their documents did not make this clear. I moved my auto loan away, but still have another loan and some lines of credit. I did not interact with them at all for a few years, then twice in the past month or so I've had negative interactions: 1) went through the drive through to pull out $1000 in cash I accidentally sent to this account. They asked for our account number but no Driver's License or other ID. They didn't even confirm our names. I try to give them benefit of the doubt, maybe they have an ID scanned in. But we haven't been there in so long that even if they did have one scanned in, it would be expired. 2) Last week I called on one of the lines of credit. It can only be used for specific things and I was trying to confirm what specifically it can be used for. I was told their systems had been down all day, but they took my name and number to call me back "when their systems came back up". I have not received any call back. Extremely disappointed in Frankenmuth CU for so many reasons, but especially given the only two interactions I've had with them in the past few years have been negative. They want to get your business, but are not good at keeping it.

I gave 2 stars since the branches are convenient located and the tellers I’ve dealt with have all been pleasant. A lot of fees at this credit union and the system will let you overdraft since it won’t set the pending amounts aside from available balance which is very annoying. Also be warned if you apply for a loan and you have to deal with Andy, request someone else, his demeanor and customer service skills aren’t fit for a financial institution let alone anywhere else. I WILL be taking my business elsewhere ASAP

Sadly, I have been disappointed in my membership. I chose to join because of the proximity to my home and I wanted a second credit union account for a trip I took abroad and I wanted to make sure I had two accounts with debit cards in case of an emergency. There staff is friendly and nice, but after today I am appalled. I applied for what should have been a simple credit card application because they have great rates, but what I was not prepared for was that it would take over TWO WEEKS, to get anywhere and they kept asking for more and more info, it was like I was applying for a mortgage, not a credit card. I withdrew the application today, after I was told I was approved, when they suddenly asked for two years worth of W-2's or seven (yes 7) of tax returns for a $5k credit card... I will go elsewhere! I will be closing the accounts! As others have said, nice people, a ton or ATM's, but operating like its the 1980's and expecting an unreasonable amount of info to produce.
