I have been with Michigan first for a long time. In the process of me being with them they allow someone to hack my account three times and they did nothing about it but have me to take out a loan to cover my bills and then they will pay them back once they did their investigation. This should have never happened now. They took my account in 2019 and closed it out. When we all know covid happened in 2020 and banks were bailed out. They sold my account to another creditor that is taxing me 29% interest and they're not willing to settle with me. They took my income tax and interest of racking up because no one will talk with me about so that we can get this settled. They are garnishing me and won't work with me to pay it off sooner. They're just trying to get more money. Michigan first is not a family bank to anyone. I only owed $1,100. They took $800 in taxes and now it's back up to another $1,000. Where is the justice? All of my sons had accounts with Michigan first and they too had their accounts hacked. We have been customers since 2010. ☹️

Renette Riggins at the Southfield branch has assisted me on numerous occasions. Her customer service, friendliness, knowledge, efficiency, and returning phone calls expeditiously are fantastic. Additionally, offering her service via email adds to her prompt responses. Additionally, products and services at Michigan First CU have been phenomenal, as well as this branch's cleanliness, coffee shop, waiting area, and 24 hour lobby have been most beneficial.

If you have an account here, CLOSE IT IMMEDIATELY. Thought I paid my car note, and by that I mean I did, they choose from my saving versus my checking. Rather than the bank just automatically, making the funds available, THE FUNDS WERE THERE TO PAY THE BILL by the way, THEY JUST OVERDRAFTED MY ACCOUNT TWICE, AND PUT ME A MONTH BEHIND IN MY PAYMENTS. Definitely not somewhere to bank.

I use to love this credit union until i needed them to just do regular work, and then THEY turned nasty. Why cant we as costumers speak to anyone on the phone other than the call center? .... Does Michigan First teach their MANAGERS basic banking laws. I've been talked to aggressively, I've been puffed up on and harassed by bank employees when they were and still are in the wrong.. ill be leaving soon as well

I called to check was a bill taken out and I was assured it was by customer services on 1/24/26 at 2:42 p.m.because it said pending but I received a email stating received fee. She said the available amount is what I need to look at. I was assured. I woke up to over draft charges. I called MI First to put a complaint in and basically was told it's nothing they can do. I was given the wrong information and it's effecting my livelihood but all I get is our bad. I will be banking some where else moving forward.
