Not only do they rob you every time your account hits negative and I mean AS SOON as you’re negative, there goes another $25. Next morning, another $25. Which so many people I know think that’s absolutely insane, the amount. I called about my negative fees to someone I called at the bank. She proceeded to tell ME, “well, don’t spend money you don’t have.” I told her how disrespectful that was and that my payments are automatic and I started off with, I’ve been struggling financially. She has no clue of my issues or what’s going on. So she automatically says that. I think that’s disgusting behavior and so unprofessional!

So far, it seems like a nice bank, First and only interaction they seem nice. You only need $5 to open an account, the welcom packet had a page of fees it's huge/thorough. As somebody else said in the reviews they sure do love their fees,

Rude except one teller was nice. 2 weeks trying to get a loan. 2 weeks wasted. For some reason I thought a credit union paid their employees with money earned from interest and should treat customers with respect. Customers are not an inconvenience but the ONLY reason that a credit union employee has a job. One day is all it took a credit union in Hillman to process the loan, provide an answer and issue a check. Don't waste your time trying to get a loan at Awaken, go to Hillman and apply at the credit union there. If you are tired of being treated like an inconvenience and would like to speak with someone instead of always being told that the person you need to talk to is always unavailable, Rogers City has a great credit union. Whenever you call, you immediately get a person. There are other far better credit unions than Awaken.
