Doing business with this credit union for the sale of my home was the worst mistake I have ever made in my entire life time. If there was a hoop to jump through, we did it! It was a 2.5 month process and the banker we worked with had been doing mortgages for 30 years (would've thought 3 months)! My husband did absolutely ALL of the leg work right down to hunting down the township assessor after the banker let the process sit stagnant for almost 3 weeks without contacting the buyer or the seller. We had multiple closing dates set and the banker would set these dates and not tell us that the appointment was contingent on any new information, therefore they were canceled. In the meantime, we were trying to purchase another house that was indeed contingent on the sale of ours and was very time sensitive which essentially cost me thousands of dollars for nothing! When we got to the end of the deal ... the banker wanted to cut us a check for 25k on a 100k property because she originally told us 5k closing costs and was actually 15k. I would never ever recommend this credit union for a mortgage! You will do all the leg work yourself, nothing is done in a timely manner, and the communication between the bank-seller-& buyer is absolutely horrific!

I love this little credit union. You are a person not an account number. All the features of a big bank. You can use PayPal, venmo and other related apps. You can withdraw money fee free at any co-op atm. Great service friendly service.

I have been a member of First Area Credit Union since 1963. The reason I have stayed with them for nearly 50 years is the personal attention each member receives. Some business talk about "personal attention". These people live it.
