I’ve been banking with WLSFCU my entire life and I am really getting fed up with them. We were always told that “credit unions are better” but I’m not really seeing the perks anymore. Not to mention, WLSFCU is extremely hard to get ahold of and the majority of the time when I call to talk about my account / make a transfer the call just hangs up or has a busy dial tone. Please do better. The only thing I’ve liked about banking here is having no limit on the amount of times I can transfer from checking to savings. On top of that, my mom, who has also been a lifetime member has been told multiple times that she cannot withdrawal the amount she needs. They also messed up her Zelle and she cannot access or use it now. They said they would look into the problem to fix it and never did. Not worth banking here, I would highly recommend you look into another bank.

I’ve been banking with Walled Lake Schools Credit Union for a while, and the service has always been outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful, and truly cares about their members. It’s great to have a local credit union that treats you like family, not just a number. Highly recommend!

I have had an account here since birth. The credit union used to be a great alternative to banks. I used to tell young people that a credit union account would be a better bet for them than a bank. Things have certainly changed. If you have money "instantly" transferred to your account, it takes days for it to be available. Then they decided to up their overdraft fees from $4 to $30. So they are punishing the least privileged, those of us who are struggling and don't have anything to spare. They will take advantage of you just like banks do. You're better off with an online bank at this point.

Everything takes forever. I recently moved out of state and it’s like they put me on their back burner someone stole my card info and after I called them they said “if it’s not in there in 10 days you can call us back” i called them after 7 just to check and they said “you have to wait the full ten” so I did but guess what It had been 10 days and still no money back. So I call them and they say it should be in there but I literally had to argue that it wasn’t and on top of all of that I was told the first time I called to change my address but then they “didn’t receive it” (it was fully set on the website.) so I didn’t get that for 5 more days after I had FINALLY gotten my money back and now I’m having issues with transfers because I paid 5 dollars for an immediate transfer from cash app and it’s ALL sitting in the ledger account but I can’t spend any of that money because it’s just sitting there while they’re collecting interest on it like the terrible bank they are I’m closing my account as soon as I can withdrawal that money. And last but certainly not least my card has been hacked 4 different times since joining that bank their security sucks. I’m leaving as soon as possible.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
