Incompetent staff, and manager. I was trying to close out a safe deposit box. During one trip to the bank with the key, an employee told me I needed to bring back the second key for the box or be charged a fee. I told him the box was at a different branch office (further from my home), but he said that wasn’t a problem, and even consulted with a manager to verify the key policy and the closeout policy. He said I could still close it out at this Bloomington branch office. Today, after finding the second key, I went back to the Bloomington branch office to close out the box/account. But the manager, Gabe, told me I had to go to the Richfield office to close it out. He and another employee asked me FOUR times whether I had removed everything from the box already. I assured them FOUR times that I had removed everything from the box, over two months ago. It was like he didn’t believe me or thought I was an idiot. Very insulting. He said the manager for the other branch was already gone for the day so he couldn’t ask for her approval to let me sign the form at the Bloomington office and close the box/account. Don’t trust your money to a bank with incompetent staff and managers!!

I loved RBCU, and have banked with them for 15+ years, so it’s actually a little sad to me that I’ll be leaving. The rollout of their new app and online system has been nothing short of disastrous. 4 plus months with no access to basic services like mobile check deposit. The cherry on top was they now won’t sync with my budgeting app, rendering that system basically useless. I’d advise you to go anywhere else.

They have had so many months to figure out their new operating system and nobody has answers or knows how it works . Deposits are delayed, lots of transaction errors. You call and ask when it’s going to get corrected and the employees say I’m a member too , ask the president of the credit union it’s not my problem. We as residents want to support something local, figure it out!

I joined in the early 2000s when it was RBCU. 1 Free cashiers check a day, now $5. They used to be open at 7am which was perfect. They changed the name and made it less of a credit union and more of a big bank. Open to everyone versus referrals only. They rolled out a new system and it has made things so inconvenient. My checks are no longer deposited a day before, and not even until 9am now. This has caused me to overdraft for payments that come out at midnight. Yes. They have reversed them. If it wasnt such a hassle to change banks, I would. Staff is nice though.

Its been two months of no online banking. No access to account changes, statements, mobile deposits, etc. This is a joke. I tried to close my accounts today but need my statements first which I can not access. They said the only way to get them to me is a $5 per statement fee to email them. They said they haven't even issued the past 2 months of statements. Customer service often tells you inaccurate information, their loan and credit card rates are never competitive compared to other places. I've been a member for about 15 years and I just want out! I haven't found any silver lining in using this credit union.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
