I really, really wanted to be able to leave a positive review for CCCU. I genuinely believe Credit Unions are the future, and are much more equitable than regular banks when it comes to best practices. I had previously been a member, experienced fraud on my account and closed it. I had moved on to digital banking but missed being able to go in person and deposit cash. I joined CCCU on December 31st, and brought a check with all of my money on it to deposit into the new account. I was accommodated to open an account even with some road bumps, which I was greatly appreciative of. The woman who helped me was extremely kind and patient, and I thought we had built a rapport after the hour it took to open my account. Well, then I tried to use the card and it was immediately declined. Okay, I chalk it up to the card being less than 15 minutes old and head into work. I get off work and go to check my online account, and I’m missing a crucial PIN number to log in. The office was closed and I got stuck in an AI loop with customer service. All services are closed on New Year’s Day, fair. I call on Friday the 2nd, leave a voicemail for the teller who assisted me and try calling the 24 hour line. I got a lovely human being who was able to get me logged in, and then informed me the check I deposited would not clear until January 12th. A full TWO WEEKS past the opening of the account. I do not understand why my teller wouldn’t inform me of this upon opening the account, if anything I was misled about how quickly I would be able to access the funds (and she never returned my call.) I am pretty disappointed that I have to just sit with no money for fourteen days after opening an account. I understand this isn’t necessarily the fault of CCCU, but no communication or a call back? Now all my money sits dormant waiting to clear, and I will more than likely just pull it all out and immediately close the account. Maybe I’ll try it out for a third time in a couple years, but this left a sour taste in my mouth.

In my many years of being a member at CCCU, I have purchased 2 homes and 9 vehicles, all of which I only received rejection letters from CCCU and I am an active member. I had to finance everything from everyone else except my bank because they don't actually care about you. I keep waiting for them to get better but I think it's time to move on.

I have been a member of the City & County Credit Union for almost 60 years. I have never had an experience there that has been less than exceptional. The staff is well trained and they really care about their customers. Their involvement in the community for me is a huge bonus!

I stopped in Friday afternoon as my cash card was no longer operable in a cash machine. I did not expect to get a new card on the spot only to pick up some cash. Augusta happily informed me she would have a card ready for me in 2 minutes! Fast and friendly service, thank you Augusta!
