Been banking here for 19 years. Its was a great experience for almost 20years. They helped alot getting my credit established growing up from a teen to adulthood to starting a family to buying my 1st home. Back in 2022 I signed up for another checking account to help manage my weekly budget. December of 2025 I noticed my account balance wasn't what it should have been. What they didn't tell me or you is that they charge $10.00 per transfer to move money around from account to account and it doesn't come across on the app or online as a deduction on from your account balance. Basically if I/you bought a $2.00 bottle of water from the store my/your account would be debited for $12.00. Basically I had roughly $900-$1300 per month of these charges. I asked them for help in this matter when I discovered this had been happening for over 2 years they basically told me it's nothing they can do, do a better job, and to be careful next time. I told a close friend of mine about this and they exact thing is happening to him as well. Please be aware before opening an account with this Credit union. You will be robbed blind. This change occurred during the fed raising the interest rates for banks. This move was a way bolster profits. This is predatory and a shady practice. They have a way to alert one of everything else. Am I fool enough to believe that they don't have a trigger to notify them of alot of incoming money from an account. Id say so. I promise you. I've included a few screenshot of the fees over the past 30 days. They've went on for 3 years. All they're going to tell you is sorry this happened and ask " how can we help you with something else?" They've helped me in to financial ruins. Please be aware. Question everything with them. Don't get comfortable. Always stay aware with them. Please.

More than a month ago, I walked into Members Exchange and applied for an auto loan. Mind you, I’ve had a relationship with this institution for about 12 years and the ONLY 2 things I’ve ever done was refinanced a vehicle loan with a remaining balance of about $3k and I used my line of credit to finance a home project. My refinance agreement was for about 3 years, but I paid it off within about 9 months. The home project is ahead of repayment schedule as well. The CSR pulled my credit and reviewed it. She confirmed that I had no delinquencies or negative entries on my report, which I was well aware of because I pay EVERYBODY. She said that she would send the application up for review and she’d let me know in about an hour. The next day, she emailed me for “more information “. I waited for about a week and emailed her for a status update. I’ve not heard another word from MECU. I’m okay with them refusing the loan, but what I do take issue with is that you accessed my credit file to the detriment of my credit score. You asked for more information, but you weren’t courteous enough to contact me to let me know what in my credit report or payment history gave you pause to making the loan. Perhaps there was no reason to deny the loan but your pride wouldn’t allow you to articulate that “we just don’t want to”… either way, after I’ve completed repayment on my line of credit, I’ll be ending my relationship with the bank. Folks, NEVER do business with an institution that is okay with having you as a customer until you actually ask them to do something for you!

BEWARE! This bank has predatory practices as it relates to customers and overdraft fees. If you’re apart of the OOPs program, the company will cover the cost of the transaction and you’ll have to pay that back plus the $35 overdraft fee. Normal right? On the other hand, if you are not apart of the program, you are still being charged $35 each time a transaction occurs and there aren’t sufficient funds in the bank. If you try to request a refund, the way it’s set up, the bank will always win. So, I guess we are all perfect and have never had a declined transaction before. Please Members Exchange, do not reply to my comment. There is nothing further to discuss if it’s not about closing my account immediately.

My experience with K. Keen was Extraordinary!!! After having a bad experience she turned that all the way around!! I have never felt so appreciated in knowing that someone truly wanted to help!!! More companies need someone like her bc she went over and beyond to ensure I was satisfied!!! SHE ROCKS!!!! Members Exchange truly has a GEM!!! I would definitely refer my friends and family to this credit union. I appreciate you Mrs K. for all you have done to satisfy me as a customer!!! If I could give her all 100 I absolutely would!!!

Don’t open an account with this credit union. They steal your money and tell you one thing and when you enter into the branch it’s a different story. They took money out of my daughter and my accounts and acted as if it wasn’t anything they could do, when they were at fault for not doing the documents correctly. They have nasty attitudes toward the members.
Weekdays 9am–4pm typically have the shortest wait times for new member inquiries.
