I’ve been with Goetz Credit Union since 2018 and have never had a single issue. I recently got a car loan through them, and the process was unbelievably easy. They offered a very fair interest rate, and once I had the car details, it only took a little back and forth over email to finalize everything. By Monday morning, all the paperwork was ready to sign—just three signatures and about 12 minutes in person! I was able to skip hours at the dealership with this process. Plus, it didn’t ding my credit score multiple times like dealership financing usually does. Even repayment is simple—I can just transfer funds from checking/savings to the loan account right through their website. Goetz CU makes banking easy, personal, and stress-free!

I’ve been with Goetz for decades. At first because it was the only option and later because it’s a pain to move. They do not operate as a professional institution. They will tell you different stories on the phone and in person and lie right to your face. They have no set operating procedures and seem to allow and disallow things based on whom you talk to. Things they have done for me without issue one time will be “impossible” and “not policy” the next. Things like third party verification for auto loans they will not do over the phone but they will do over fax or email. There is no reason. I use a few banks and am leaving Goetz. Stay away. You WILL have your account hacked if you bank here. It has happened to me at least once a year on every card. It happens so often they have spare cards on hand so they can mass reissue cards when needed. It happened to me over the summer and my wife last week. It seems to happen often and the fact that it happens to large amounts of people at Goetz at the same time indicates the leak is Goetz in my mind. Leaving and not looking back

If you ever need to go inside you can’t regardless if it isn’t 5 yet. They always keep their lobby doors locked for some odd reason otherwise great bank.

I have banked with Goetz for 7+ years and really liked them for the first few years. I don’t know what happened but they have went downhill. Strike 1. In 2018 I got $30 deposits for 4 months from the City of St Joe. I didn’t think much of it and thought it was something to do with my ex-husband’s electrician union membership. Come to find out they were being deposited in our account by mistake and they withdrew the money back out of my account, which was OK and mistakes happen. Then strike 2. They allowed my ex-husband to close our joint checking account without my knowledge when we separated. Maybe they only require one person to close a joint account but I think that is wrong, and I know a lot of banks don’t allow that. Joint owners of a checking account have equal ownership of that account. I could’ve had pending deposits or withdrawals, and it could’ve created a mess. Luckily, it didn’t though. Then strike 3. I started getting charges from planet fitness for a membership I don’t have. Called Geotz the first time and they told me it must’ve been as mistake and we will take care it. Same thing happened the next month. I went and talked to the manager at planet fitness, and she found where my account was linked to someone else’s membership by mistake. She also said she would take care of it, and it wouldn’t happen again. Well, obviously she didn’t because it happened a third time. I called Goetz again and was told yeah, there’s one number that is wrong so it’s coming from your account and asked me to come in and sign a stop payment, and they wouldn’t charge me for it. I appreciate that, but news to them I wasn’t going to pay for the stop payment because this mistake had nothing to do with me. However, I would like to know how it went through my account when the NAME was different? Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought all that information had to match. And I also thought, I am glad I watch my account because if I was someone that didn’t I probably wouldn’t have noticed $26.99 coming out of my account each month. Someone would’ve been getting a free planet fitness membership on me. Needless to say, I don’t feel that my money is safe there anymore. Sadly, I have decided to switch banks. I gave them two stars because I did have some good experiences there.

A great place for a car loan. Always remember your credit union when car shopping! Don't just let the dealership sign you up with a high interest financial institution that probably give them a kickback. Interest rates at credit unions are very competitive and they will work with you should a hardship arise. I've been a member of Goetz since 1984.
