I rarely post reviews but I would absolutely not recommend going through elko federal credit union for whatever your banking needs may be. Not only was I immediately given the most rude customer service ever but their whole system is about 10 years behind every other bank. From the moment she answered the phone (don’t remember her name but I’m thinking Jessica?) it was nothing but an inconvenience that I had even called. Then she gave me absolutely no information whatsoever to help me. Just an “it’s out of my hands, has nothing to do to me” not even a half assed I’m sorry. If you open a credit card with them apparently the main branch has nothing to do with them. Wish I would’ve known that before opening my account. Pay your bill on time? Well their old system will take two days minimum to process it and if that falls outside of your due date they’ll charge you a late fee. Want to actually get your cash back? Nope. Unless you have a checking or savings account with them they can’t actually transfer you the money or send you a check. You can only put it on a gift card or toward your account balance (that does not count as a payment by the way). Never will I open an actual checking account with them due to the fact that it’s impossible to get into the office if you work a typical 9-5 and you can’t get ahold of them, except on the rare note you call back multiple times and then they’ll treat you like garbage. If you’re like me and thinking it’ll do you good to stay local think again and go with a big name bank or maybe check out the other credit unions.

Called to make sure remote deposit was received and correct. EFCU employee said it was. Come to find out, its not correct. They will not push deposit back through on same day. Even though this is half their fault. Will also not put it through on a Saturday even though they are open. Lori left me on hold indefinitely. Erin wasn't willing to even take this to a manager. Tania, manager, wouldn't do anything to correct this. Im fact, she told me to call back Monday to speak to Martha. Don't waste your time here. There are better banks out there. Greater Nevada Bank, Ive been hearing great things about.

My account got randomly locked while I was out of town called both locations multiple times while they were most certainly open. Have had countless issues with this bank. This was the final straw. Don’t waste your time they will lock you out of your own money then take the day off.

I've been with them almost 4 years, great service but only problem is have is they are shutdown way too much for holidays. For example, Monday is Columbus day and they are closed saturday. For some of us that work on mine schedules its hard to do business weekdays. The online bill pay is a joke too, then the extra charge to pay online is ridiculouz

Years ago they were great to deal with for loans. Last spring we opened a checking account with them and it was a horrible, stressful relationship! No one knew what they were doing, online or at our local branch! I just couldn't belive how they screwed up our account. I could never get bill pay to work correctly and I wasn't alone wit that issue either.
