People are nice but the website is garbage. They don’t let you know if you over draft and instead of declining the transaction they charge you a 50 dollar fee and then bounce the transaction. I had a reoccurring subscription I forgot about, and I don’t use this bank account much. This caused these fees to rack up, and since no one lets you know personally, you can end up in considerable debt to them, and I did. Debt they would not forgive even after I explained the circumstances to them. Debt based on fees for them literally just declining a transaction. They changed their website and didn’t carry over any of the online banking logins to the new website so you have to personally call them and ask them to set one up for you in order to even view your funds. This is by far the most inconvenient bank I’ve ever had in my life. The only positive side is it’s a credit union so you can get good loan rates. I wouldn’t recommend keeping any large sums of money with them however because the interest rates are low and their website doesn’t have compatibility with pretty much any online banking or money management service outside their own internal accounts. If you have any ability to use the internet there are 1000+ better options than this bank. I want to elaborate a bit on the aforementioned issue because I truly believe this is a systemic and predatory system. Not only was I never informed about these overdraft fees, I never actually ever overdrafted at all. The payment bounced but every time it tried to charge the account after going through again it charged me another 50 dollar fee. They would not forgive any of these fees and I ended up having to pay them over 300 dollars and they even threatened to send me to collections. For a technical issue like this, I found this not only unprofessional behavior from a bank and over a simple forgotten subscription issue (something most banks would absolutely forgive if it only happened once and you are in good standing with them, which I was) but also extremely predatory behavior. Their clientele is mostly older folks which worries me even more so considering my technical knowledge and yet still having major issues. I can only imagine how screwed over some older folks may have been in similar situations, there could even be folks thousands in debt to them right now and they have no idea. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere for a bank. Like I said above the workers are good people and very polite. None of my experience should be construed as poorly towards them; this is purely a management and structural issue with the company. They have to be better especially in such a competitive field where you can find fantastic service with online banks at the touch of your fingers.
