I had a complicated and urgent situation last month that required assistance from the Advantage Credit Union. Everyone at the Credit Union was very helpful and kind. I'd like to mention Simon who was particularly attentive and nice. I really appreciate all the help I received!

This is a review on their customer service over phone. I would be very careful with this Federal Credit Union. Their Credit Cards are issued by a third party and you need to go back and forth multiple times even to pay the payment. They fine you even though it is their mistake. They say sorry but they fine you for everything. I had a phone call and they said they didn't have the correct address. I sent them the proof of letters they sent to my address asking if I wanted their insurance, mortgage loans etc. They still deny that they have my correct address. However they don't answer how they are sending marketing letters to me. I was fined 3 months in a row for this wrong address thing. I am planning to close my account with these cheaters and liers. I suggested them to open a Go Fund rather than cheating their customers and earning profits.

This past Wednesday I decided to go to Advantage to pay off an outstanding debt that I had with the bank..So I pulled into the drive through and explained to the teller what I was here for and he said ok and so I gave him all my information along with the money. 10 minutes goes by he's sends my drivers license back and told me someone in collection will contact me. I asked when should I expect to recieve a phone call He said he didn't know, so I asked for a receipt and he said that he couldn't me a receipt because my money is not in an account right now. So I ask for my money Back and he said no there calling the police I just don't understand how you called the cops on someone who giving the bank money. This is supposed to be Credit Union that's helps people get their finances in order so much for that STAY AWAY......Their Scammers....

i have experienced poor customer service both in the branch here at mt. hope, and over the phone. one woman was helpful to me one time and was able to answer questions. but it’s the condescending/rude/disrespectful nature of everyone else that works here that is having me close my account and open with someone else. ESPECIALLY people over the phone. if someone’s calling about an issue, don’t belittle them and disrespect them. i’d rather go back to a bank that lost my money with no paper trail than to continue banking with people who can’t assist, scoff at those trying to help themselves, scold for being unaware, and for the condescending, holier than thou people they seem to employ here. i wish i could give a negative rating. do better

October 3, 2020 I went to the Advantage Credit Union on Mt. Hope to make a payment. I got out of my car, I see the Security guard come out of the branch and stand in front of the entrance to the bank, he lites up a cigaret as i approached the entrance, I speak and he asks if i am going into the bank and i said yes ( as he is blowing out smoke, i cough) I said yes, he lifts his right hand with the thermometer, as the cigaret is in the other hand, and says "i need to take your temperature", reluctantly, i lean in for him to take my temperature as i hold my breathe trying not to inhale cigaret smoke. I opened the door as i proceed to into the bank, when he said " there is hand sanitizer in there on the counter." I can't begin to tell you how horrible that experience was for me! This is not the first time that i have had a bad experience at this branch, the first time, i had to call the police! This time, i and writing a review. It is very unfortunate to experience these types of encounters at a bank. I spoke with management inside and he said he would speak to the security guard about it. When i left the bank, i spoke to the guard about the unpleasant encounter, how it was difficult for me to enter the bank due to his smoking right in the front door of the bank, but he was rude telling me he did not blow any smoke and repeatedly saying , have a good day, have a good day, as if he did not want to hear me..I said , thank you sir and you have a good day.
