Don't know why anyone would bank at GC FCU...awful customer service and terrible communication. Picked up Repo car for a friend, and learned that Gates FCU repossessed after their own mistakes, charged her $500 fee, and then does business with possible the worst repo company in Rochester that charged her a ridiculous fee. Gates FCU, get your act together...you are an embarrassment to your industry. Why someone would choose you when they could choose ESL is truly a mystery.

Very friendly and extremely professional customer service. Clean, inviting, and well organized bank with plenty of parking. I would recommend this credit union to any business or resident of Gates Chili and surrounding areas.

I came in this morning to open a savings account for my son. I was greeted at the door by a younger woman who informed me that because both me and my son did not have a face mask that we could complete the paperwork in the entry way.The only issue I had was that the table was much lower than me and my son’s height and there were no chairs so I offered to go in my car and fill out the paperwork and bring it back in. The woman was very nice and offered to take us to a closed off area of the bank to complete the paper work. Maybe 2 minutes after sitting down a short wrinkled woman with an orange reddish mushroom hair cut walked by and inquired about if we had a mask and why we did not have a mask on. The younger banker offered to explain. I then chimed in and and told her if it’s that big of an issue I would go home and get a mask and return and that I work in healthcare so I get it. She responded with you should have a mask on whenever you go out in public. In this case she was right but what was even more puzzling is that she was not wearing a mask herself. As soon as I mentioned that I worked in healthcare, she became fearful and went maybe you should go home and get it. Instead of going back and forth I told her that I would not be opening up a bank account which she replied fine if that’s what you want to do. Never in my life have I ever been talked to so rudely. I have a bank account at both citizens and chase for the last 12 years and here I was being talked to like a child in front of my son. I don’t think so. As long as she is working there they will never get my business. She has a very poor attitude! If she wants to give advice on protection and social distancing maybe she should start with herself because she DID NOT have a mask on the the entire time she conversed with me. I honestly felt like she was racist or maybe she was just having a bad day either way next time practice what you preach!

This banking establishment is hell-bent on operating in it's own interest rather than to serve the customer. They have absolutely no sense of conformity as one employee tells me something of great note just to have it blow up in my face and leave me with no way to use my own money. Then, when I call to complain about this I am put on hold by an inexperienced representative until they close at their extremely inconvenient time and hung up on. No follow up call, no consideration, no communication. No more business from me! At least with a big bank they are beholdent to their rules and are well informed and trained before put in the line of duty. Contrary to this POS bank. Edit: After seeing the response this weak willed "owner" had I'd like to clarify yet again, I was not reached out to after business hours and the miscommunication was entirely on your behalf after I was informed wrong information. The audacity you have to turn around and shift the blame on your customer instead of taking ownership of your own faults solidifies my decision to leave your decrepit and loosly run organization. Shame on you.
