I came in there to get a bank statement about the $5 I opened my savings account with and found out that my account was closed. It was for DSS. They told me that someone back in May rang up $135. So they charged it off. I said it was fraud. I knew nothing about such charges. Um, I’ve never had $135 in any Trail North account, (I’m poor.) Just tried to open up a savings account once. I don’t like how the matriarch lady in e-town accused me of dishonesty in front of other strangers, customers standing there. That was stupid small town judgmental crap. Meanwhile, I was just trying to get back to DSS with an account statement about the original five dollars that I opened my account with. Meanwhile, I’m charged $135 and matriarch-bank-lady only gave me judgment. She’s not a judge nor a detective. It’s another fraud charge on my credit that I have to go deal with, and she was not very compassionate and didn’t believe me. People should stick to what they know. People should wait until they know what has been proven. What you’re supposed to do when their account is charged off is take the customer (the person who entrusted your private identifying info and ss number info for cu or bank) behind closed doors and apprise them of the situation. You don’t stand there and berate them in public, in front of other (stranger) customers, in front of people waiting in line and humiliate them and denigrate them like you’re at the Wooden Nickel, over $135 that they’ve never had in any such account. Do not humiliate people like that in public over a charge-off when they SAY (like I did) “I had no knowledge of this.” I’m saying it again in public now. That bank matriarch was so unprofessional and silly. Truly and by far, the most unprofessional and emotional bank people I’ve ever dealt with.

No customer service. When you are a member and have been for years and they wont let you deposit a check ! When you say you are for your members and community and are there to help! How can people pay their bills when they can't deposit their money? Disgraceful to do to a young family with a newborn! People will be doing their banking elsewhere!

Bank always restricts your card and you can never make purchases online without them putting a hold on it. Makes it super hard to run a business knowing you have the funds and the bank prevents your purchase from going through. Consistent issue with trail north

UPDATE 06/2025 I've read some reviews that people can't use their cards or purchase online. People don't understand that a Credit Union, especially Trail north (Ticonderoga CU) is there to protect their people. IF they hold something it's because they want to be sure you aren't being scammed etc. I for one appreciate their extra steps of keeping me & my accounts protected. IF you want a bank that doesn't give a care and just allows you/your account to be accessed ol time, then leave a Credit Union; as they are NOT your typical bank that doesn't care if you are scammed or you overpay and then blame you and go after you. ...I've had my accounts with (Ticonderoga Federal credit Union) now Trail north; for 8 year's now and they have always always been friendly, helpful and very informative and up front. I've had several loan's with them. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Very trustworthy UPDATED:: 07/03/2023 BEST SERVICE hands down!!! ALWAYS quick to resolve any issues and VERY Trustworthy I feel Very Safe with TrailNorth and will continue to so. Had so many issues with other Bank in the past which is why I decided to go with TFCU Now TrailNorth….NEVER had any rude service or issues with my accounts…. THANK YOU Staff at Ticonderoga TrailNorth 👏

Full disclosure: I used to work here, but my opinion is completely unbiased. That being said, I have had an account with them years prior, going on five now. Okay, so this credit union is by far the best credit union I've ever had the pleasure of being a member of! They are always welcoming, they never have anything to say about their members, but nice things (including the rude people)! They treat you with respect, they listen to you and will help you in any way they can. A truly good team of human beings, hands down. I will never leave them. Just my opinion. Every one of us is allowed to have one:)
